No, it doesn't. I've been watching the team since the 70s through thick and thin. What a loss like this shows is that this is a poorly coached hockey team that is making a good roster look inept, and losing in spite of a world class goalie shutting the opposition out in regulation because they cannot generate any offense, even when they're a man up.

This team has no structure in the defensive zone, no effective breakout plan, no transition, no utilization of the speed of the players who can fly, an easy to shut down offense that's generated from behind the net resulting in shots into a goalie who is waiting for a shot while pinned to a post. There are few rebounds because our forwards are in back of the net, not in front of it. I'm not even going to start on the PP or go on about this, because there's no point.

Nailed it

I was pulling for you guys so much today. You are like my adopted team since I have a close friend who lives in the NYC area. I really thought you had the game today. Your goalie is a stud, he is incredible. I will say this... unlike the one team I like, the Wild, you guys being down 0-2 is nothing compared to the Wild being down 0-2. I fully expect you guys to bounce back in game 3. I would bet a high amount of money you take game 3. You are the better team, you just can't score. You have an amazing goalie.

I guess what I'm saying is don't give up hope on this series because I feel it's far from over and you will bounce back. It will be 2-2 before you know it.

Good luck, I am pulling for you!

Yeah cause that works

"Hey Dolan, the fans are getting restless on TWITTER!"

"****, better fire Sather"

It worked for other teams.

Fire Tambo chants at Rexall Place
Fire Wilson chants at ACC
Fire Gauthier at Bell Center

Fans don't hold upper management accountable. It's always X coach.

I haven't seen much mention of the stark difference from this teàm when it plays on the road vs at home.

It's been terrible on the road and very good at home. I'm not surprised by these struggles in games 1&2, and I think we win 3&4, but they better figure out how to steal a game away.

Begone witch!

Thy optimism is profane!

(Thanks, hope the Wild can pull it off)

How can you be a better team if you can't score :shakehead

If you think that's what got those guys fired I got a bridge to sell ya

Hey, anybody remember the "Fire Sather" rally a few years back? Big Success!

You hold upper management accountable with your wallet, not by *****ing about the team on twitter/facebook/messageboard

To have a run and gun offense, you must have the guns to run it with. We don't. This roster doesn't have the personnel to score goals.

I agree. Rangers don't have offensive guns to run that type of system. But they certainly have the players to develop a puck possession system. They certainly like to pass enough.

Dolan doesn't give a **** about hockey let alone us fans. You really think a "Fire (name here)" stunt will hold any effect?

And to be honest, the fans don't really care that much either or else they'd stop selling out the place every night.

Regardless of other teams fan chanting "Fire (insert GM)" and then it occurs, it will not happen to Sather. That man has a job for as long as he'd like to keep his job. He could be 95 and ******** all over himself and he will still hold the position of General Manager of the New York Rangers.

I'm sure that was the final straw, and not the fact that the leafs were the laughing stock of the league on a complete free fall

Leafs fans went HAM the past few weeks before the firing.

There were many blogs that were referenced by their beat writers calling for Wilson's head.

Hell, look at what they did to Burke to run him out of town (google it, prob not HF appropriate).

Our media won't do anything to Sather.

Again, you're the most naive person I've ever met if you think organizations give a good ******* what the fans/media thinks. They care about 1 thing: $$$$$$$

Between the Yankees, Mets, Giants and Jets, the media doesn't care for the Rangers.

Toronto on the other hand is Toronto. Two completely different situations.

We don't have players who like to hold onto the puck that much to establish a puck possession system. Those guys are a premium in the NHL and we don't really have that type of player.

We can be the change somehow, there is really no other way to voice our displeasure.

But talking to some other Rangers fans before the playoffs, the casual ones seemed content with Sather/Torts/Callahan at helm.

Set up a fire Sather rally, worked like a charm last time

You voice your displeasure with your wallet. That should be obvious.
