Frankly I'd rather see a change to a total run-&-gun strategy than anymore of this crap. Would much rather lose that game 4-3 in OT than 1-0.

Not sure where this is going, we're not out of it yet but my mind is starting to drift to fishing season and striped bass in the shallows....:naughty:

I have tix for Wed. Not sure if I want to go....meh

If you don't want to make a poor college student pay, can I come. :yo:

You. continue. to. miss. the. point.

I also feel that it was a bad decision by Torts. Why do you continue to ignore this? I have said it 5 times now. I do not lay all the blame on the coach, however. Take a few seconds to read this before you respond.

Alright lets see maybe I did. So you feel it was a bad decision by Torts and you said as much.

No, you very clearly don't understand. How did Torts kill him with a massive shift? Again, this guy is a workhorse. McDonagh comes off the ice when he is tired all the time. All of a sudden now he doesn't and it's all Torts' fault? Torts could have "forced" him to come off, but he's going to go with his players when they say they are OK.
If you don't like that, than perhaps you should go tell Torts how to coach a game. I'm sure your multiple Stanley Cups will speak volumes to him.

No that reads like you making excuses for Torts and NOT calling him out for a mistake. I will go back and read your previous post it's possible I did miss it and if I did I apologize but it certainly wasn't in this post

Wait...... people actually thought we played well offensively?

Pretty much every statistic out there disagrees. The eye test also tells that we're inept offensively.

LOL jesus Christ at least if you insult someone over their point to make yourself feel better you should understand what part of your post they are responding to. I said I agree they were better in the first but that has no bearing on their miserable failure today

Then you need to articulate yourself better. It isn't really that hard to see how I interpreted what you said as referring to the first game when you say "I disagree," give no context and then proceed to start talking about the first game without a transition.

If you disagree with my opinion about the offense being better today, then that is fine. But can you try to answer my question about quality scoring chances? Name more than a handful from game 1. Shot totals don't tell the whole story.

Fun to lose to complete Pejorative Sluration.

Then again we'd have taken this one with a bit of puck luck. We're back in it with a win at the garden

You said the Rangers offense sucked because they scored 0 goals. Now the Caps offense didn't suck despite also scoring 0 goals through 60. The point is number of goals doesn't equate to how good an offense played. There are plenty of better arguments for why the Rangers offense didn't capitalize, throwing around things like "0 goals of course they suck" is just piling on the this team sucks train without any hint of logic.

Zero goals is evidence that our O is weak. Getting outshot is evidence that our O is worse than theirs.

People can choose to ignore the evidence if they want. But to me it looks clear our O is weak, esp. on the PP. Bad PP will kill us.

Seeing as how my focus was on game 2, your post mentioned game 1 and game 2 and based on the fact that if I WAS talking about game 1 then it didn't make any sense (as you pointed out) I don't know why you assumed it was about game 1. You literally pointed out that if I WAS talking about game 1 then my comment made nos ense so why didn't you think to yourself "I did mention both games and this is all about game 2 so he must be talking about game 2." C'mon man

How did he get out-coached exactly?

I don't get this. Where does coaching come into play here? Here's the difference, they have 2 guys on their back end that can rifle it with the best of them (AO, and Green) and they have 2 of the best playmakers in the game feeding them.

We've got Brad Richards whose head is up his ass and really nobody with a canon of a shot.

Our defensive system includes guys collapsing like crazy and not pressuring the shooters. That's coaching.

Get rid of Torts. Get Guy Boucher and I am perfectly fine to play more of a run n gun type of offense with our defense and Hank back there, we should be more confident than other teams that play run and gun. Who plays run n gun that has a Henrik type goalie? Answer? No one.

Why do you think I told you to re-read that post? I have never said that this was all McD's fault. The blame is on both Torts (for keeping him out there too long) and McD (for not telling Torts he needed a break).

I wouldn't say "well" - but better than game 1 in that particular aspect of the game, yes.

And I'm going to assume the stats you're talking about are skewed by a high shot total in game 1. A **** ton of perimeter shots =/= good offense.

To have a run and gun offense, you must have the guns to run it with. We don't. This roster doesn't have the personnel to score goals.

K.

Waiting on that list of quality scoring chances.

Alright I've got to go out now. Sorry to Jon for misreading that one point but my other points I def stick by especially the one about condescending just bc people disagree with you especially when one of those people is myself. I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed and hope these guys get their crap together and win. just sick of being disappointed and frustrated by my fav teams

Completely disagree. Game 1 I thought they played decently outside of the 2nd period collapse. This game was an all out travesty. The Caps had more shots in quality and quantity. The Rangers barely had offensive zone time to create chances, unlike game 1.

0 steps forward, 2 steps back.

I thought I asked you for one? You said that the NYR had many more in today's game and I asked YOU to give examples of them b/c I thought they barely generated any good ones. WHat made you think I was going to give a list of quality scoring chances? And which teams chances was I supposed to list I don't get this question at all

Quality scoring chances we had: Powe from Brass. That's literally it.

Quality scoring chances they had: Chimera, Backstrom, Johansson, all alone in front of the net. Ribeiro's 2 on 1. I could keep going though.

Rick Nash, hit the post, someone else hit the post early in the game too (Moore? cant remember who)
