The fans.

They are content with staying mediocre.

I don't see much of social media calling out for Sather's head.

This team can't... And has not been able to score. They have NO pp... None. It's basically a rallying point and moment shift IN FAVOR of the opposing team every time they take liberties with our players!

Every, single time.

5 on 3 is even worse.

What did anyone expect?

Can't score, can't win.
It was fun to blame it on Hank last game... At least for variety's sake.

Hey how about giving doug weight a shot at coaching this team seems like he lit a fire under the islanders and they wone a game against the pens he cant be any worse than this clown we have now.

How about that Trottier guy, was a great assistant coach for the Stanley Cup winning Avalanche.

I like Torts, I don't want him fired.

This. And even then, we only scored 1 goal off a Capital's skate.

New York-where offense goes to die.

Rick Nash, hit the post, someone else hit the post early in the game too (Moore? cant remember who)

yep, Moore. Or wait, I think it was Stralman? blurry memories.
On an other note, what are "goals" and why is it allowed Green scored one? I don't get it. ABout 110 minutes without one now, and the one we did score was, well, kinda bouncy. Win two home games or this series ends in the 5th game.

Meh, a loss like this shows who the real fans are, anyway. Team needs to just get up and shake this crappy loss off. Sucks that they lost, but hopefully they can put it behind them. This team can be seriously emotional sometimes. Hopefully the home crowd can get behind them and help out.

No, it doesn't. I've been watching the team since the 70s through thick and thin. What a loss like this shows is that this is a poorly coached hockey team that is making a good roster look inept, and losing in spite of a world class goalie shutting the opposition out in regulation because they cannot generate any offense, even when they're a man up.

This team has no structure in the defensive zone, no effective breakout plan, no transition, no utilization of the speed of the players who can fly, an easy to shut down offense that's generated from behind the net resulting in shots into a goalie who is waiting for a shot while pinned to a post. There are few rebounds because our forwards are in back of the net, not in front of it. I'm not even going to start on the PP or go on about this, because there's no point.

Why do you think I told you to re-read that post? I have never said that this was all McD's fault. The blame is on both Torts (for keeping him out there too long) and McD (for not telling Torts he needed a break).

One last before I leave. I made a public mea culpa for that one I was just frustrated and pissed for reasons I stated earlier and didn't fully read. I didn't read all of it b/c you had consistently been not only fully excusing this team for this game but telling fans they shouldn't even feel frustrated and you criticized them for feeling and posting their frustrations (as Dan so coincidentally and graciously highlights an example right above this post) and I assumed you were doing it again. I assumed and there's a reason why they say what they say about assuming.

To have a run and gun offense, you must have the guns to run it with. We don't. This roster doesn't have the personnel to score goals.

I'm not suggesting that we will suddnely turn into the 80's Oilers, but I disagree that we do not have the personnel to score goals. We play a very deliberate style of hockey that is counter-offensive. Did you ever notice that when we are in the offensive zone and the puck comes over the blue line, instead of sending it back in and quickly touching up, we go all the way back into our own zone and just sort of start all over. We ARE TRYING TO MAKE IT A ONE-GOAL GAME ON PURPOSE!

I really think the games would be a lot more fun to watch and we might even win (more) if we just unleased everyone and let our world class net minder save our ass.

Of course that's just my opinion and it doesn't mean squat at the end of the day. :D

I thought I asked you for one? You said that the NYR had many more in today's game and I asked YOU to give examples of them b/c I thought they barely generated any good ones. WHat made you think I was going to give a list of quality scoring chances? And which teams chances was I supposed to list I don't get this question at all

Here are all of your posts responding to me:

How bout this you tell me where UI act like a tactical genius then I'll reply to this. I also flat out disagree with what you said in your second paragraph completely. I saw our first game as much more in control and bad luck. I saw this as flat out failure. That's what I SAW not what I'm implying or making up. Reporting what I SAW is not pretending to be atactical genius.

LOL jesus Christ at least if you insult someone over their point to make yourself feel better you should understand what part of your post they are responding to. I said I agree they were better in the first but that has no bearing on their miserable failure today

Seeing as how my focus was on game 2, your post mentioned game 1 and game 2 and based on the fact that if I WAS talking about game 1 then it didn't make any sense (as you pointed out) I don't know why you assumed it was about game 1. You literally pointed out that if I WAS talking about game 1 then my comment made nos ense so why didn't you think to yourself "I did mention both games and this is all about game 2 so he must be talking about game 2." C'mon man

Here are the relevant parts of mine:

I'm saying offensively, the team played better today. Their overall game, however, was not even close to what they showed in the last two periods of the first game.

Other than Hags' breakaway, name me more than 3-4 quality scoring chances in the first game. I can think of maybe 2-3 more.

Then you need to articulate yourself better. It isn't really that hard to see how I interpreted what you said as referring to the first game when you say "I disagree," give no context and then proceed to start talking about the first game without a transition.

If you disagree with my opinion about the offense being better today, then that is fine. But can you try to answer my question about quality scoring chances? Name more than a handful from game 1. Shot totals don't tell the whole story.

You assumed " was doing it again" when I was telling you my reasoning and breaking it down for you? I don't even understand how you can seriously write that.
