Great game all around. Pastrnak being kept off the score board and our depth still showing up greatly is awesome to see. I love Pat Maroon!

It's easy to say rotate the goalies before the playoffs start, but after a performance like that, it's tough to put Ullmark in for game 2. Hopefully whatever they have planned works.
Just in...

They were all over Pasta (as expected). Nice to see others score. Jesper B. made that first goal happen. Jake showed up.

Everyone played well.

Charlie Mac spent time in the third (on the bench) with the trainer. His hand was messed up and hurting. I hope all will be well. He kept playing so there is that.

Next game won't be easy!

The problem with Domi doing his rat thing is if no one else is going to get involved whatsoever you end up just being a douche bag.
Dirty Domi....He is a far bigger rat that Brad.

Such a fun game to watch. Would be great if the whole series goes like this, but I have a feeling Toronto will come out swinging next game and make it a series.
No doubt the leafs will have a better game

But the B's won by 4 goals without any real contribution from Pasta...

..so Pasta will also have a better game, and will likely pot a goal ....or two

I don't watch the Leafs much; I just hear about their potent offense.

So the start of the game caught me off guard. Did they think they were the Broad Street Bullies? I get wanting to set the tone, and sending messages. But what about playing to your identity? Matthews and Marner were invisible most of the night.

If that continues, great for the Bs.

It surprises me how much they were relying on Max Domi, who has bounced around the league.

I think either goalie is a good call. Swayman is in their heads, much like Holtby was to the Bruins. At the same time, alternating goalies could make it difficult for shooters to adjust.

If this ends in the first round for Toronto, I'm guessing Keefe is done.

Wonder if Woll plays Game 2? Hank was defending Samsonov, and doubting whether Woll was an upgrade.

Leafs spent the whole game on Pasta which allowed others to score.

Pasta made some great defensive pays.
Pasta was hustling, but was shadowed, hooked and hit a lot

..that's why it was soooo important for other players to come through with big goals

If they shadow Pasta again, then other players have to step it up again

..but I think he'll find a little more room out there, and score a goal....or two

If anybody here actually cares - here's how all the " experts " over at Sportsnet picked the series:

Jeff Marek: Maple Leafs in 7
David Amber: Maple Leafs in 6
Christine Simpson: Maple Leafs in 7
Caroline Cameron: Maple Leafs in 7
Justin Bourne: Maple Leafs in 6
Nick Kypreos: Maple Leafs in 7
Luke Fox: Bruins in 7
Mark Spector: Maple Leafs in 7
Iain MacIntyre: Bruins in 5
Sam Cosentino: Maple Leafs in 6
Jamal Mayers: Maple Leafs in 7
Eric Engels: Maple Leafs in 6
Jason Bukala: Bruins in 7
Ryan Dixon: Maple Leafs in 6
Wayne Scanlan: Bruins in 7
Sonny Sachdeva: Bruins in 7
Rory Boylen: Bruins in 6

6 out of 17 actually picked the Bruins which is more than I expected.

There's a guy on Youtube that does videos under the name The Hockey Guy. He claims to be fans of 3 teams; Vancouver, Dallas, and Boston. I agree with him about 60% of the time.
Today someone sent him a question asking which team did he think overachieved the most this season. His answer was the Capitals.
Seriously? Ya mean overachieved more than a team that lost their 1st and 2nd line centers and pretty much replaced them with JVR and still finished with 109 points.
Hockey Guy, you're a complete idiot.

@BostonBob If Toronto misses first round again Sportsnet will lay off more people because the way the contract is structured they need Toronto to play at least 2 rounds.

He nuts he takes Swayman out u ask me.But whatever I will still cheer for whoever is in net.
Somebody mentioned earlier that Swayman is 5-0-0 with a 1.17 GAA and a .964 Sv% in his last 5 starts against the Maple Leafs

You can't play much better than that against any team

That alone should be enough to convince Monty to throw Sway back in net for game 2

Here is a prime example of why I hate the Toronto media

Chris Johnston wrote

BOSTON — There is nothing particularly noteworthy or striking when you first lay eyes on TD Garden, a drab gray building constructed above a train station on Causeway Street that is among the older venues currently in use on the NHL circuit.

It was a drab grey building for 20 years but not today unless you are judging the building coming in on the Zakim.....

The Toronto media hates the TD Garden elevator that services Level 9 and that is fair as it is the worst in the NHL.

TD Garden was electric tonight which will NEVER happen at Scotiabank Arena. For the most part, fans attending games in Toronto get their tickets from their employer and are told to behave.

Toronto has a live organist but he sounds like he is a computer file

Over my many years, I have found Montreal fans respected the Bruins and their fans.......that is NOT the case in Toronto.

We have a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go in this series.

I was surprised that Dangle elected to watch NESN instead of Sportsnet.

Sway stole the game. Laffs don’t really have a heavy forecheck at all. Gryz will be fine all series. Shattenkirk looks a little suspect playing his off side with Peeke. But we need him for PP, so would Peeke come out? And Wotherspoon in? They seem to think Peeke can kill penalties, which I’m not convinced of yet. The Laffs 4 on 3 had to score if they wanted a chance. But Sway! They were missing Nylander.

I kind of expect Forbort will go into the lineup over Shatty if they do lose a game, and maybe either way. Not for game 2, but at some point in the series
