Price playing at "75%" only means a greater chance of injuring his knee further, especially being a butterfly goaltender.

Not only that, but when you know you're not 100% and it being his knee, that is enough to throw off your mental focus in playing the way you normally would if you were not injured.

Its less physical, and more mental. Rangers need to exploit that tonight, if he plays.

Hey did you guys here that Price is about 75% and he wants to start?

I recommend we send Kreider feet first straight into him. What do you guys think?

A sore Price is probably still better for the Habs than Budaj... who is a mediocre goaltender at the best of times.

I'd have to imagine his lateral quickness would take a huge hit if he plays with a bad right knee.

Either way I am not really worried.Their defense is a big part of their offense and our speed has their defense worried about jumping up into the play. Kreider must keep his cool tonight and avoid retaliating. Rick Nash scored a goal, now win a game 2.

#canadiens Peter Budaj left the ice first.

If Price is in the Rangers have to give him the old Emery treatment and go for those quick one timer's to his opposite side.

Have to watch out for Henrik. Don't let them drive into him, at all costs really. We didn't come this far and wait this long to get a prime Lundqvist in the playoffs for a smurf to injure him. It's truly unfortunate what happened to Price, but that was definitely an accident and caused by Emelin.

If they're more focused on attacking Lundqvist than scoring goals we can take advantage of their tilted mind set.

The most crucial thing is for Henrik to be very aware of his surroundings and for him to be ready to jump out of there as soon as he has the puck.

Not only that, but they need to be in his face (legally) all night. On top of the crease. Bashing at rebounds. The Habs aren't going to take that, and we can draw penalties if we do it the right way.

I think Budaj gets the nod, though...

"Hab goalie coach Stephane Waite just had a long talk with Peter Budaj while Budaj was stretching on the ice."

if price isnt 100% i hope hes starting. just drive the net and camp in front of the crease like we did on saturday. price didnt look particularly good blocker side after the collision.

Budaj and the goalie coach had a long talk before he left the ice. First goalie off. No one knows who is starting for the Habs.

Agreed. This is no time to be nice or apologetic to him. Save the sympathies when we're out of this round. We're playing in Montreal, a 7-2 win is quite the exception not the norm. If Budaj goes I expect his game to be stepped up big time despite his poor playoff stats in limited time. If Budaj is in then the key is going to be overwhelming him. Lots of shots, stay in his crease all night, get in his head. He's a backup goalie in the ECF.

With that said I will not simply act like Budaj has never burned us. Which is embarrassing. But that was honestly a long time ago with a much worse roster.

HOLY ****!

Carey Price OUT for the rest of the series!!!

“@renlavoietva: #canadiens Carey Price out for the rest of the playoffs vs Rangers. #tvasports”

This just seems like a troll by Montreal. They're trying too hard. I hope the Rangers just go about their business and beat whomever is in the net tonight.

Edit: Well, I am wrong, lol.

“@PLeonardNYDN: And as Habs coach Michel Therrien rules goalie Carey Price OUT for series, Derick Brassard takes the ice for #NYR at Bell Centre”
