I can't believe that some of you are still dissecting the flaws of this team. I don't think that at any point of our season any of us thought we would be in the ECF. Win or lose this series you have to realize that there are only four teams remaining and we are one of them. Obviously winning the cup is the ultimate goal, but I'll take our current team any day of the week with its depth. How many teams with major superstars or two stacked lines are now watching from the clubhouse of their respective golf courses?! Chill out and embrace what our boys are currently offering us! Hockey in mid May, who would have thunk?! Cheers.

No. As he shouldn't. Should have been a penalty shot.

It would have been better if the refs had called something. It would have at least lightened up some of this 'accidentally on purpose' nonsense.

I expect Price to be in the net tonight and probably at least very close to 100%. I suspect that a lot of the malarkey of the last couple days is just mind games. Will the referees be watching the crease areas more closely? Probably. Even so Kreider wasn't penalized for the collision--there was no good reason to penalize him.

All right, gonna continue this discussion here since the other thread's locked now.

Someone posted this link:

It doesn't seem very credible though.

That story's been out for hours and no other sources have picked it up yet.

I kind of believe it, given how the Canadiens player and coach reactions went from "it was an accident" to "he kind of sort of did it on purpose" the next day. That would cetainly be in line with finding out the day after that Price's injury is more serious and he could miss some or all of the series.

Oh, please, Richards is just saying what EVERYONE says - that the Habs building is the best in the league. It is. Want to ***** about that? Then MSG should be making a lot more noise - consistently. Not just in the ECF's.

There's nothing wrong with what he said. Richards is honest - just like he was when Callahan got traded. I'd prefer an honest response instead of the typical cookie-cutter responses we usually get.

Yeah pretty much and on one hand we have our own fans in every GDT reporting how dead the Garden has been, yet if a player from the Rangers compliments another (louder and more hockey crazy by far) building it is heresy.

Richards is a ******

There’s noise in every playoff building. I wish we could play every game in here, not necessarily against the Canadiens. It’s just a great building.
I’m a Canadian guy that played major junior hockey in Quebec. I spent a lot of time looking and imagining playing here. They’re loud and the fans will be behind them.
We’ve got to weather that all the time and, at the same time, enjoy this. There’s not a better stage.

- Brad Richards

I think we all know where Brad is going thsi summer.

if you didn't sucks farts out of seats on busses, maybe the NYR home crowd would cheer for you as well.

Help us win a cup and be on your way.

He speaks the truth. There's nothing like hockey in Montreal.

It took us until the ECF to make a back page and even then it's still not dominating. Heck, the route wasn't even the backpage for Newsday yesterday.

Hockey is all that matters in Montreal. That stadium come game time and their history is insane. To think that NYC is comparable to it, especially for a Canadian kid, is just arrogance.

And no, the Garden is not even remotely as loud. The Garden has become quieter then some plays I've been too, outside of a few games.

He's fine. If he wasn't fine, he wouldn't have played the rest of the 2nd period in game 1. They're just milking the whole thing as a rallying point for their team. Price will be the hero playing hurt and Kreider is the villain. A cute narrative until we beat them again tonight.

+1. It's all bulletin board material, trying to find a mental edge after getting smoked. Which is why it became a much bigger deal at 7-2 than when it as 2-0 at the time.

Edit - A Price injury could explain it as well I suppose.

Richards was really pissed off by the fans booing Nash. He's probably still not happy with the garden fans.

Am I missing something with those Richards quotes? Are you guys reading between the lines that aren't there? Extra sensitive with people calling the Garden quiet, because it is quiet? It's a corporate structure, not an arena. That's something we have to live with now. It is what it is.

As for things that actually matter, like the game...

The Habs have no answer for Kreider. None. And if they take the time out of their game plan to focus on trying to involve Kreider physically, well, they'll have no answer for that, either. An interesting thing though, we've heard a bit from Kreider about how Nash has taken him under his wing so to speak, and has been 'mentoring' him now with their shared time together as Rangers. They are also linemates. If the Habs go physically after Kreider, I think the power-forward in Nash we've all been waiting for will wake up and deal some hurt, similar to the game he played against CBJ. That's a beast I've been waiting a long time for - maybe it awakes tonight?

All that said, it's been proven in the past four games. When the Rangers are skating hard, keeping their legs moving, and winning 50/50 battles, it is tough for any team in this league to match the four lines we can roll.

If Price is playing, shoot low stick-side ;)

Let's make a series 2-0 for once, and get back to MSG with a chance to close it out :yo:

AHB speaks the truth! Huge Ranger fan living in Mtl. I was at Saturdays game and let me tell you I was in awe! Actually hair raising experience it was so loud and emotional, up until we managed to clear the Bell Center that is! I've been to MSG a few times, and for those of you have have never been North of the boarder to catch a game in Mtl, you are missing out on something electrifying and special, not to mention good Canadian beer and our amazing French women!!

I can see it now.

Price being shown on the jumbo-tron in the trainers room before the game, getting his right leg taped up.

They will have their very own version of Willis Reed

He can come limping out of the lockerroom to a standing ovation.

:shakehead

Bruins fan coming in peace to thank you for handing the Habs their ***** in Game 1 and requesting that you do it throughout the series.

Go Rangers!!!!! :handclap::yo:

Stamkos was at the funeral yesterday. Any chance we sneak him into the locker room and put a #12 Fast jersey on him and pretend he's some swedish kid?

Injured or not, that is probably a pretty good idea:

Breaking the 2-0 curse today would just be too great.

Kreider needs to keep playing exactly the same way as he played game 1. Straight ahead speed. North south. Crash the net. Let those Montreal babies try and catch up to him.

Insanely beautiful and easy!!

If you're a hockey fan, it's important to experience it one time in your life. It's something that is just incredibly special. It's why I like the Habs generally. Sure their media goes overboard, but are we really going to complain about that being from NYC? Arguably the worst media in the world. The only reason it's not bad for hockey is because no one really cares.

Regardless, the Garden these days is a joke. Tickets are so expensive that you get a bunch of losers going to the game. I've seen guys watching NBA playoffs while at the Rangers playoffs this year. It's pathetic.

This is Bloody Sock pt2

If Price is hurt, and the Rangers win, we'll never hear the end of how lucky the Rangers were and would have lost if he was healthy.

For that reason, it needs to happen.

Preferably in a heartbreaking manner.

They need a rallying cry, did you see them whining monumentally about the disrespect Boston supposedly showed them.
