Fowler for Spooner+Cehlarik as suggested in other thread and agreed upon as mutually beneficial... make it happen.

That's definitely in the ballpark of a realistic trade. I like Spooner and it allows Rakell to move back to wing. Vermette signing did that as well, but Vermette can also play wing, so it gives Ducks some options.

Yup heard that Holland was heavily pursuing Fowler, Rumor had it before that draft that Murray was seeking Tatar+Detroit's 2016 2nd rounder for Fowler but i guess Holland balked at that in which is a fair offer for Fowler. Every thing i keep seeing on the rumor sites suggest that Holland is heavily pursuing Fowler.

Yea that seemed to be the general consensus value wise between the 2 teams (I think id prefer jurco/Pulk over a 2nd just cause I trust you guys @ drafting forwards better then us).

I know it's weird, but to me, that trade seems like one that in the end, both teams would regret. :dunno:

Idk I think boston would be pleasantly surprised with fowler, I acutally think who ever gets folwer will be happy with what they are getting @ 4m a year.

Most of those "dozen" teams can't actually take on the contract without sending salary back or making their own cap dump deal and you know that.

Carolina, NJ, Buffalo, Ottawa, Florida, Tampa Bay (Kucherov to resign still), Boston, Nashville, Columbus: Teams that have the space to take on Fowler with no return (Columbus would be slightly over, but Clarkson could be going to LTIR). Buffalo, NJ and Boston have all been linked to Fowler at some point and all 3 have the ability to take on Fowler's hit. Red Wings would need to get creative with how they'd deal with the cap, but they might be willing to deal with it since they probably have the highest desire to add him (which is why I previously mentioned Howard). I don't really understand where you get most teams that want Fowler won't be able to take on his cap hit.

I think it definitely hurts Boston a young controlled Center/Winger with several more years of control for 2 years old Fowler and don't know if he would resign. I could more or less see Boston having doubts about it.

Yeah. What I mean though, is I could see Fowler, not being what Boston fans hoped for and not fitting in. And Spooner struggling against tougher competition and in the west and not fitting in with Anaheim.

Thus, in the end, both teams wish they hadn't made the deal.

A deal like Tatar+jurco for Fowler would help us cap wise and i know that Murray is trying to shed salary so that's why i suggested just adding the pick or maybe a prospect winger that Anaheim could use in a year or two.

my guess is it Fowler or kesler

for bieska or stoner they add a lot

No way kesler is moved... he was prob our best player last year. Yes his contract may be bad in time but right now hes well worth it. + I doubt he wants to leave, seems pretty happy here.

Can definitely both teams points of view here, A lot still depends on the Rakell signing as well.

Oh yea I forgot we are trying to clear space that doesn't really do that, you are correct then it would likely be Tatar + pick or prospect.

Fowler playing with chara is a lot like fowler playing with beauchmin and that was when fowler was at his best... I think fowlers game was more meant for the eastern conference, but well see I suppose def something I wouldn't mind as a trade basis.

As for spooner in Ana... I actually havnt had a chance to watch too much of spooner so cant comment on him too much.

Ok. Let's all just agree it's Fowler.
Settles the D issue plus the salary issue in one move.

Now.
Where's he going and for what?

I'm saying to Montreal for one of Hudon, Sherbek, Andrighetto, or Lehkonen + a pick(s)
Habs are in win mode to save Therriens, and maybe Bergevins, job. MB won't stop short now. If he feels Fowler is needed, he will move who ever he feels he can and should to get it done.

The Bruins are also deep enough at forward that Spooner is being moved to the wing. Most fans, at least on the message boards, cry when is a trade is made. Fowler isn't a rental, he has two years left. They can't even negotiate an extension until next year, which is enough time for him to get a feel for the city and them make their pitch. Fowler has been a great team player and I highly suspect he'd entertain an extension if he's traded to a team like Boston. If Fowler was strictly a rental, I'd understand the hesitation of trading a guy like Spooner. Most insiders feel like Boston is the one dangling Spooner to get D help. The trade starts with Spooner and other parts are added in. People on these boards seriously undervalue Fowler, or just about anyone that is rumored in trades.

He did waive it to go Anaheim, but BM, for no apparent reason that is fathomable, gave him a NMC on his two year extension (went into effect 7/1/16).

Given the depth of the ducks defense, I would expect Kevin to waive the NMC, since LV likely picks one of despres or Manson assuming there is no trade of a dman out of Anaheim.

I mean, LV isn't going to claim bieksa if Manson who is a good 12 plus years younger is available with a cap hit under $1 million and a rhd.

But Anaheim should have figured this out long ago. Don't be playing hardball with your rfas when you overpaid for UFAs. I mean, they took on Bernier full cap hit of $4 million. For a backup goalie.

I for one will still be pissed if we lose manson I like him a lot.
