Would love to get a D for Ryan Spooner.

Young, fast C/W on an ELC for one more year. Likely to threaten 60 points in his second full season.

Fowler is developed though. He's a top 4 PP option today. They also cut salary for the next couple years.

I remember earlier in the year there were whispers of Skinner being shopped. His production dipped and there were the concussion worries.

Both guys are the same age, not a bad swap IMO.

It's a bad swap because:

Carolina needs forward talent, and Skinner is among their best. They have Faulk, Hanifin, Slavin, Pesce on their defense, with Fleury, Bean, McKeown, etc. coming up. They are stacked on defense for the future. You're thinking of only one team here.

Any interest in Girgensons for Fowler as a base deal from Buffalo?

No. BUF isn't willing to offer up the right assets to acquire Fowler. If they did, he'd be a Sabre already.

A young, contributing 1st line winger on a cheap contract is what we need. Girgs isn't that and you're not giving us anyone that fits that bill.

Murray would kiss the shoes of the GM that takes Despres off his hands.

Or not... Despres had a rough year due to concussion. He's fine. We'll probably keep him (trade Fowler) and lose him at the expansion draft.

Spooner + Senyshyn for Fowler
Tatar + Athanasiou for Fowler + 2nd

Nope I like Girgensons but he isn't a strong enough starting point for Fowler.

Cammalleri (50%) + 1st for Vatanen ?

We are not trading our young right shooting high scoring defenseman that has played in all situations helping us have the best PP and PK in the NHL and recently got a contract extension from us with the player coming to us being a 34 year old on the smaller side forward that has trouble staying healthy. Even retained at 50% heck even if possible for 100% retained would get a no way in hell.

Well that obviously wont happen

Zacha+1st for Vatanen?

Nope we are not trading Vatanen for maybes we want someone who clearly makes us a better team now not hopefully in the future.

Vatanen for Zuccarello.

I'd suggest Fowler but he plays LD.

No not interested.

How about Pasrnak and/or Spooner plus a draft pick from the Bruins for Fowler?

BTW: What's the deal with Despres? Can he make a positive difference on the Boston blueline?

Bruins wouldn't trade Pastrnak and Spooner for Fowler if they did I would probably take it. Boosts our forward depth with nice young players and saves us some money for a little while.

Any chance Fowler shakes loose to the Oilers for a draft pick and someone like Yakupov retained?

We are not interested in Yakupov and we don't want to trade Fowler to the Oilers.

Trading Fowler is kind of risky. Without Fowler Ducks have Lindholm and Vantanen as there top 2

Bunch of number 4 to 6 guys in Bieksa Manson Despres. Stoner as 6th or 7th. Theodore didn't play a full season yet.

1 injury to the top 2. You will have Manson Bieksa Despres as number 2/3/4 defensmen.

I will try to trade Despres or Manson instead

We are not trading Manson he makes too little and has done well playing with Lindholm.

Has no one suggested Rick Nash yet?

Has been done before in other threads not interested in him at all.

It seems like other GMs might be hoping that the longer this drags out, the more likely it is that they can get a D off the Ducks for a similar price to what the Isles gave up to get Boychuk.

It seems like Bruins and Ducks fans seem to agree on Spooner and a prospect for Fowler. I wouldn't have suggested the move until Backes signed in the summer making him the perfect candidate to bring so quality assets can be moved for quality assets.

Nope

Agreed. Pastrnak is too valuable a player for the Bruins to ship out and not face a mutiny.

Would the Ducks have interest in Plekanec, from Montreal?
If, (big if), Bergevin somehow manages to get Shipachyov signed with the Habs, Plekanec could become available.
Habs would be looking for a partner for Weber.

Too expensive and not a fit.

Assuming, ANA is a budget team and hardly has 6/7 mil left on the cap space to resign both Lindholm and Rackell shouldn't they target pick and prospect in any deal to free up money ???
