Their current style of play reminds me of the Terry Murray days, dump and chase with little to no physicality

Oh my god you're unfortunately right. No wonder I have that numb feeling again.

Ducks fans will gloat about the Kesler-Carter fight and I won't blame them. That was a huge dent in my ego as a Kings fan.

Meh, if they do, I don't care. Carter made a questionable hit on Kesler and rightly obliged him for the fight. Obviously he got his clock cleaned but it wasn't like he went out there being a total punk.

Poor carts, the guy even has to drop the gloves to carry this team. What are the odds of Carts being out with a concussion now that Quick is back?

One problem is the Kings are allowing it.

Did you see that play CLifford made at center ice, and almost turned it over ?

Guys like Nolan/Clifford should be dumping that puck. Except they aren't.

The Kings are stuck in this weird identity crisis.

Well, I know some players should be in a leash. But our top 6?

I bet money the coaching staff has asked Kopitar/toffoli ETC to cheat if need be.

The team can't score, no NHL coach making millions of dollars, having a team losing and his top six not producing, is putting restraints on his best players.

Kopitar has six goals on the season, Sutter is not telling Kopitar to play 100% defensively.

It's why Doughty has been flying around the last five games or so, like a mad man trying to save the world.

I would bet the coaching staff at this point, doesn't care if it causes losses, but at least put the puck in the net.

every team in the NHL has had 5 years to study this system. Put Carter and Pearson on another team and their production would be every bit as good if not better.

There aren't any "new" systems being played in the NHL. It really does come down to execution. The Kings' execution was nearly flawless for 3 seasons.

You also need the correct personnel to fit the system.

Maybe Carter and Pearson would have more points. That's not the objective of the system the Kings are playing. It's designed for playoff hockey. It's designed to wear the opposing team down over a 7-game series. The Kings haven't worn a team out since 2014.

This isn't hyperbole; the Kings are done.

If they don't come out with a better 3rd period effort than in recent games, especially against this opponent, then yeah, they're done. They have a chance to show some life, some desperation, some urgency. If they do it in any game, this is as good as any.

NHL stats aren't always gospel, but stats have 12 giveaways by the Kings to two for Ducks. For what it's worth...

And that's a sign of a team that doesn't care. You can't be that lazy and expect to win. They're lucky it's the Ducks and not a better team.

Lombardi is out of his mind if he is a buyer that or his hand is forced by ownership.

The Kings really don't have asset to buy anything. The Draft is extremely weak.

Trading a Defender is a lateral move really, cause you're not going to get a legit top six player coming back.

good assessment of the situation.

Yeah, but I don't really see moving Martinez as a big deal. I would be happy if the return on him was a promising young forward in his very early 20's and maybe a 3rd.
