The current Kings remind me of the Wings teams of the 2000-2008. They use to have possession all the time, and fly-by hit/pick people.

Except that Wings Core could get away with it, cause of uber skill/transition players.

The Kings have the wrong players, to be trying and transitioning to a speed/possession team.

Their current style of play reminds me of the Terry Murray days, dump and chase with little to no physicality

Yeah. Sutter changed that when he came in. Said they spent too much time in their own zone and needed to emphasize getting to that offensive zone. You still play smart defensively, but you do it with a strong fore check and offense, not hanging around on your side of rink.

At least Kopitar actually won the opening faceoff on the PP, and they got a chance out of it. Then they look terrible trying to get the puck back into the zone.

Kempe is looking better every game at least, would like to see him add some muscle this offseason but I think he has the tools to be an effective top 6 NHL'er

Terry Murray loved wall hockey. I think that was the biggest difference between Murray and Sutter. Sutter asked the players to be more aggressive in getting the puck off the boards and from behind the net to the more dangerous scoring areas.

Doughty can't do a wrist shot like Forbort did there to create a rebound uhh ?

Doughty, you don't have to slap shot every puck.

Yeah it just seems like that aggressiveness has gone away in recent years. A lot of low quality shots from the perimeter instead of being aggressive near the net

Ugh. Kesler one punches Carter, just what we needed

Carter vs Kesler?

...and that's why Carter rarely fights.

No reason for him to go with Kesler there. Carter got a good piece of Kesler along the boards and Kesler didn't like it. Tough s***!
