ok, how dumb was that entry? *about to enter zone, passes behind blueline, continues skating forwards*

jesus ****ing christ.

This isn't just Sutter's system. The big, heavy forecheck game the Kings played so well in 2012 and 2014 is something Dean Lombardi believes in very much.

Dean made a mistake in thinking if he kept the band together, they could keep playing the same system ad infinitum.

If they have no legs, what difference does it make what system they run?

This powerplay blows my mind just about every time they step on the ice. So much offensive firepower and skill yet they can't even enter the zone correctly

Not sure the point you are trying to make here?

The Kings play a system both the GM and coach believe is most effective.

What system would you have them play? The Kings are now one of the older teams in the NHL. They aren't going to be effective playing a slick, speed game with the current roster.

This implies they don't find speed important.

Yeah they haven't played 'the system' as we know it since 2014. They picked up the flybys for speed in 2015 and now they're just in between with no real identity.

The Kings weren't a slow team back in 2012 and 2014. They had enough speed to execute their system. They were the biggest team in the NHL and also one of the youngest, especially in 2012.

Yes, and a lot of the guys with no legs aren't going anywhere, so why saddle a new coach with that? Let them all fail with Sutter until the contracts are gone.

Bingo.

They don't even attempt to play Kings hockey of 2012-2014.

I've been saying this, since 2015.
