Do you want to find out? The clock's ticking, this deal won't be on the table forever.
After an interview to find out WHY he's shoving his career down the drain, I would.

Most of the time there is a reason why people don't give a shit and believe it or not, in my experience there are less deliberately lazy people then people think.

So yes, with due diligence, I would do it. Like a said before, the ultimate risk/reward, but if you don't take it, you won't find out.

I'm curious...

One of the reasons I was concerned about Dubois coming to the Habs was seriousness in the locker room. Habs use to have Price, Weber, Gallagher and Danault, all serious as a heart attack. Particularly Weber who took no gaff from anyone.

In comparison, how is the LA locker room? Are there strong leaders? Leaders who have no problem taking Dubois by the ear and holding him accountable?

BTW....GET RID OF BARGAINBIN

Yes we've got known leaders Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar.

No, there's no leadership here, and that's why we can't afford to have guys like Fiala and Dubois in the locker room. Jonathan Quick would've already stabbed a couple guys. I'm glad we traded him for his sake.

If we had guys like Justin Williams, Willie Mitchell, Matt Greene, Dustin Brown, and others, we could have one or two guys like that on the team. But this... oof.

That's a big deal because the bad apples are likely to infect the weak minded.

Habs cups came with hard core leadership in the room. People like Maurice Richard would chew his leg off to win. Beilveau, Robinson, Gainey....hard core leadership.

This is where someone like Dubois (and Fiala?) would have no room for their laziness. Their teammates would look at them with daggers in their hands.

With the loss of Weber, I still liked Dubois pre trade, but was concerned about him. That fear now looks like it's well founded.

Umm...you know by now that I'm not trolling so I'm linking this article with all due apologies.

This is making me think that what glimmer of hope I had for Dubois just burned up in a tire fire.

Again, apologies for posting this but it's too relevant to ignore.

Dubois trade will go down as Blake's worst...and will ultimately lead to his dismissal. I would love to know who was involved in this and what their rationale was. Like I said before, Lombardi wouldn't have touched this trade with a 10 foot pole. Dubois is not someone who will bleed hockey for you in order to win the Cup.

This summer our off-season checklist was:

-A top 4ish LHD (With some size)
-A legit starter
-A bottom six forechecker/tough guy

We got Trevor Lewis, Andreas Englund, Cam Talbot, and spent 95% of our space on .... another center?!??!?

Even Fiala plays with more edge than PLD.

“I know after talking to him, he was very pleased with the trade we made with the L.A. Kings,” Bowness said of his goaltender

“I think after we made the trade, and he saw that we were making the good moves that we made — that we’re a stronger team, that he has a chance to win — I think that had more bearing than anything.”

So I guess he was happy to see PLD go.

How much clearer can that get?

It's hard for me to let go of wanting him for the Habs because we are so weak at center. But with him there, we would be on a ten year rebuilding run.

I like to see him run out of the league. Or at least allow teams to cancel contracts when it becomes clear who they are. .

I don't think PL is being lazy. That's just how he plays. He plays slow, no fire. He's like a poor man's Kopitar.

But don’t you understand we lost to the Oilers and they have Mcdavid and Draisaitl at center (even though they played on the same line in both series) and that means we have to fight fire with fire and match up a 35+ Kopitar and PLD because surely that evens things up down the middle.

Rob Blake will never get another GM job in this league. I’m half tempted to unblock the sycophants like GBH to see how they’re spinning this.

Maybe you are use to that, but you missed by a mile.

I made it clear that I was a fan of him, because the Habs are so weak in center. I wanted him to be traded to the Habs and got a lot of flack for that from Hab fans. Seeing what he turned out to be, I still had some hope that it was just a slow start and still thought that maybe there was hope that we still would get him.

That link was posted in my forum to my attention since i still advocated for him. It was a clear shot in the head. Given how bad he's turning out, I thought that you guys might want to see it.

That's it.

If you think it's trolling, that's your take....I'm not going to participate in any exchanges.

We have seen it, it’s literally on the previous page of this thread, but it’s nice of you to continue to rub it in, thanks

That just means he felt the trade improved the team, reading that those comments mean he wanted PLD gone is purely because you want to. I’m not defending PLD as he’s simply been crappy but it’s a false narrative. Maybe they did want him gone but that’s not what the quote says or implied. The narrative was they felt they won the trade… which they seem to have done.

Sure, the coach and star player were just pleased the team improved. Here’s another quote from Bowness.

“The whole thing is, who’s in and who’s out? You can’t have one foot out the door, because [you] don’t want to be here. That doesn’t work. It affects the whole group,” the coach said Thursday.

They did want PLD gone. It’s not a false narrative. You’re spinning the story in a way that minimizes the stink on the Kings.

Some on our forum speculate that Hughes knew about the attitude problem.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Rumour (or planted story) out there is that we offered a very late second and a warm body so there was interest. On the other hand we don't know if that was misinformation to placate idiot Hab fans like me who wanted him.

(In my defense, Habs are woefully short at center. I knew Monahan would be traded so now we are down to ONE decent center and a pile of 4C)

PLD and his agent played everyone. The push to get out "now" instead of a year later were he was a FA is suspicious. As a FA he would get even higher offers so why the push?

Problem is that there is no recourse other then a buyout. I wish teams had the ability to cancel contracts. Or at least limit the legnth to no more then 5 years.

Spinning nothing… hadn’t seen the full quote.
