LeBrun: Dubois wants out of Winnipeg, will not sign a contract for next season

Fair. You're right, I'm not familiar with the Quebec media market. I thought it might be bigger than an ROC province but I guess I underestimated that.
No worries, I don't talk about my work too much and I do I think there's still a range and he'd have to be successful but if he does come in and enters as a 1C (1a or 1b) as a francophone you better believe the dollars will get flowing.

You have to think about it as an eight year acquisition.

The reason he would be attractive to the Kings is because of the age of their #1 center and their #2 center is 30 himself and has a skillset suited to be a #2 rather than a guy who could be a come a #1 after Kopitar retires or leaves via free agency.

The Kings would be bringing in a young guy that they could play on the wing for a year or two that would ultimately slide into a center role when a Top Six position opens up.
I get that, and I appreciate all the responses expressing this sentiment, which I don't necessarily disagree with. However, I was responding to a post that penciled PLD in as a 3C.

Wherever he slots in, personally, I have my reservations with how he has handled himself over his short career.

Could you point out where I devalue dach…

Its funny how you can make shit up just because my opinion does not fit with yours.

Its going to be a long summer, oh and I hope the forest fires aren’t affecting you guys too badly, it’s still early here for forest fires, but there coming.

Stay safe
Isn't calling a player a swing and miss trying to devalue a player.
You are so devoted in knocking Dach you can even remember what your typing.

Firstly, I note your frequent decrying of fans of other teams grouping the Habs fans together and then calling the Jets fanbase a "herd".

The Athletic has the Kings at number 7 in their prospect pool rankings, and Montreal at 11.

I'd rather have a Vilardi, or an Arvidsson, or an Iafallo over Christian Dvorak. LA also has Alex Turcotte needing a spot, Jordan Spence fits the age and the position the Jets would be looking for (again, the argument over whether they'd move him, but still have him higher than the prospects Montreal fans have put on offer).

Then again, I am speaking with the person who I think said that Owen Beck is worth the 20th overall pick this year so I'm not too surprised you're bullish on whatever you're willing to offer.

I've seen prospect rankings on the internet be wrong more than right. I use to do what you do but I stopped a few years ago. Those rankings are BS and have bias. Draft power and prospect development after the draft is the proper truth. I don't need to google someone else's research on the internet to have my opinion but apparently, you do.

The flaw you are making is assuming that the Kings have Byfield, Vilardi, Arvidsson, or Lafallo on the table. Also assuming that Spence is available.

Apparently, you are allowed to make anyone you want available on the Kings. Comical.

I’m pretty sure I said it could be another swing or a miss.

But you do you.
From your quote below.
So this habs fan would be happy if the habs do not trade for PLD, not bcause he is not a good player but mtl has never really done a true rebuild, i am not a big fan of trading for dach last year and hoping it wont be another swing and a miss.

Now read what you put down in the last sentence.
[another swing and a miss. ]

You made your opinion sound as if it was a fact. Seems your attached enough to keep responding in this thread.
We Hab fans are always defending our team from trolls.
So the 2 people in here who replied to me?

You replied to me and your wondering why i reply back?

Started following the habs in 72, so not sure why your being so sensitive.

Id say go out for some fresh air but with the smoke i hear is bad maybe dont start drinking this early.

If L.A puts Byfield on the table Winnipeg should run with that. He would be an insane long term pieces to get.

...Byfield has struggled mightily to keep up in the NHL thus far...methinks he's a case of "Big & strong enough to have his way with kids, but when he's faced with men, he can't cut the mustard"...been seeing a bust waiting to happen in him...another Mantha, just at C...

Hoping its not another swing and a miss?

Maybe its my bad grammar but yea not sure why you got your panties in a bunch?

I have no skin in the game here, but saying “swing or a miss,” as you’re saying you did, is utterly meaningless. It would have to be hit or miss. You swing regardless. That swing either hits or it misses. So if you said, “swing or a miss,” it’s quite possible that anyone replying to you would have autocorrected your words into something that actually made sense
No he said another swing AND a miss.

SOME Habs fans obsession with Bergevin is disturbing

This is true. Some fans need to drop it because it really is disturbing. And it's those same fans who cry when we can't have nice things because they run them out of town. Same fans that called Danault just some 3C and Gallagher is the one who made him look good.

You mention any good thing that Bergevin did on the Habs boards and some fans take a hissy fit. Yeah, the guy had long term vision flaws as our GM but there are several good move he made. And there will be several good parts that Bergevin acquired that will be with us for years to come.

I also fixed your statement because saying "Habs fans" indicates is all of us. Thinking the Habs fan base is united as one voice is one of the stupidest things you can do on HF boards. It's far from the truth.

Did you miss the hoping part?

Just give it up. You didn't have a good point. Romanov+ for Dach was a good trade for the Habs. Even in a rebuild bud

I think they'd need to make Arvidsson or Iafallo available for salary cap reasons, just as Montreal would need to make someone like Dvorak available.

I haven't mentiond Byfield in any of my posts. You keep bringing him up and then saying we're crazy for thinking he'd come in a trade.

Very touchy any time someone says the Habs aren't the best at something.

I didn't make anyone I wanted available on the Kings. I said in a bidding war I suspect the Kings could outbid whatever Montreal was willing to give up, reportedly. Anyone available on the Habs that would reach a Spence level prospect, you, and other Habs fans, have said in multiple threads over multiple months are not available. And even then, that list of prospects that the Habs have that are better than Spence begins and ends with Lane Hutson.

I don't have time to watch every prospect out there so I rely on people's opinions that I've found to be fairly accurate in the past. Based on your opinion of Montreal's prospects I would not put much stock in your rankings either, it seems far too biased.

I don’t know about this year but I’m talking about the shift
Such an overblown moment IMO.

Was it lazy? Sure. I have seen other players half glide around the ice - not particularly doing anything - and not get character assassinated like Dubois has.

Dude come on man, you just made me spit my offee, who made you king fo the habs opinion.

I clearly said the trade was not a need at the time and i was hoping it was not a mess up by the team.

Now it seems thats enough to ruffle you and the otehr dude feels, grow a pair.

Stop making habs fans look stupid.... its not a good look.

One interesting thing for me has been comparing Habs and LA prospect pool both rebuilding teams for a similar amount of time, it is amazing to see how mid Habs prospect pool is compared to LA. And LA already has better players on their NHL lineup!

For all you know, their offer is Vilardi, M Roy, and 2024 1st.

Habs draft power over the last few drafts has been higher and our development resumes from several players are top notch. Sorry, Kings don't have better assets to move. I'm pretty sure you guys in your herd said the same thing when we were trying to trade for Laine back when. Several in your fan base called players like Caufield and Guhle spare parts. Don't try to deny it

Habs have loads of assets but we are in a rebuild where the Kings are not. They will be more open to trading young assets and I've seen some fans assume that Byfield is available. We will see about that.

Who are you drooling on if the Kings don't trade Clarke or Byfield like the Habs won't with Guhle and Dach? Vilardi and Turcotte? Come on man
Vilardi, Druzi, Spence. The key is that they fit needs for the Jets (C and RHD). Also, I don't think Byfield is off the table. Clarke is probably untouchable.

Also, the cap coming back (iafallo and/or arvidsson) is WAY better than the shit (Dvorak, Hoffman, anderson) that the habs would need to send

I would add any prospect not named Lane or Mailloux.
I don 't think that Hughes has any interest in getting into a bidding war.
So LA go get him.

Not being sensitive. Just don't understand that someone would make a claim that Dach is a miss this early in the game and how he has progressed so far.. Makes no sense.
Also it seems your the one getting bent all out of shape with your remarks in the last line.
