How dare you insult "Future Hall of Famer" Kirby Dach.

Do you even know how many points he was on pace for at one point last season?

Greatest player in NHL history who has never broken the 40 point plateau
I wouldent go that far but yea, some fans have thin skin and what not, big reason i stopped posting on the habs board, it can get cesspooly realy qucik.

Habs prospects have been overrated for 20 years.

All teams do this. You have to be smart to realize that our fan base is massive and you just see more hope comments vs other teams with less fans. If you don't see this, you're just playing a fan vs fan narrative argument because you dislike the Habs.

For the record, the current Habs prospect pool is in the best shape it has been for a very long time. This is not some hope on players like McCarron, DLR, Beaulieu, Tinordi. We have lots of great development and yeah, it's fluid year/year.

Sure bud, still waiting to see the kid become what he was drafted to become, but thanks for being one of those hockey fans with the power to see the future.

Because its still early in the habs re build and dach has not proven anything yet?

Dach is age 22 and he fits the rebuild. Had a very good season with the Habs and showed his 3rd OA potential.

Not all rebuilds come strictly from the draft. "Swing and Miss" narrative is just not accurate. Keep trying. Just admit it, you didn't watch Dach play last year to know anything of value into his development.

Let me guess, you are the type who thinks that the rebuild is only with picks. Habs should have traded Romanov for the 13th pick and taken Nazar vs Dach. Too early in the Habs rebuild to take the better player in Dach and Nazar will be a hit for sure right? Because it's a rebuild.

I dont see in the future and as of right now we have no clue what dach will be in montreal but thank you for taking the time to write all this for my entertainment.

Its amazing how people get so emotionally attach to something like a sports team and feel the need to type all this because they did not like an opinion. Thanks champ so proud of your défense of the habs.

It's amazing that you still are trying to devalue Dach. Already told you, just admit that you didn't watch Dach play last season.

You're playing the gullible hope card. That should be applied to Slaf. Not Dach buddy. Got to watch the games to know ;)

Difference in tax between Montreal and LA. If it comes down to these two teams, I don't see tax being a difference maker.

Nice to see other fand in the mix on the Dubois trade talk. It took a while. Doubt the Kings trade Byfield but it's possible. Habs won't touch that.

$296,000 is a very small difference. I'm surprised. When you're making $8+ million a year, you'd barely notice it.

Yup, it is a small difference. And it's also more deep in context. What player is spending the entire $8M annually? None! Well maybe E Kane did. haha.

Basically, each player has different strategy with their accountant. Some just invest into retirement stocks and some go into business ventures. If you haul out money from investments or are a spender, you get taxed. We all know that story.

So yeah, from the $8M, what are they spending annually? $1M and under range? Taxes are a big deal but for people with money, they have accountants to manage it better than us $100k and under people.

yea thats nothing matter fact he will make alot more then that just being the face of the Habs for french TV doing a bunch of commercials etc taxes aint the problem we have to beat LA's offer which wont happen if they give Byfield

Calling Dach for Romanov+ a swing and miss. That was you right?

Dubois got bad attitude. Asking trade in Columbus and now in Winnipeg when he's not supposed to have control on his destination.
Due to this Winnipeg front office should qualify him = dubois refuse
Go to arbitration and win or lose dubois will not signed just left a year at home and creepy attitude will hurt him for next nhl contract

If the reports are true about Dubois doing a sign and trade with a handful of teams, how is it not better for the Jets than waiting a year??

Would you rather him have waited for UFA and not agree to a sign and trade while he's still on the Jets?

Idiot, the Jets should lose him for nothing so that they can show him whose boss.

That 300k in difference he can make up by being in commercials and shit in Montreal.

Really comes down to if Montreal is willing to pay/can beat LA.

If LA truly wants him, then he'll end up there as they have the better assets to move.

He'd make 1-2M per year easy in MTL on endorsements alone

article from our beat writer for the athletic saying offer sheet unlikely and likely traded before draft and the kings have emerged the front runner

They try to scare Kent Hugues IMO. Let's see what happen in the next 2 weeks.

If we are moving Hellebuyck, PLD, and possibly Scheifele, then we don’t necessarily need a C back in any PLD trade… we could look to address that in one of the other deals, so what‘s available in LA in the RHD, RHW, and C positions

It's in perspective that Jets want to destroy a career of a cry baby player.
RFA said restricted and Dubois act like is an UFA I really did not like this because he put his team on pressure to sell him at lower price than he should be
Hope he will not be traded in my team. I certainly hate this move

There are tax strategies in Canada that make such a simple comparison of just income tax rates pretty much hogwash.

Yeah Fleury was damn near unbeatable that year but I seem to remember Helle not playing great.

He was solid in the post season for Winnipeg.

He closed out the first round with back-to-back shutouts to eliminate Minnesota and then delivered a 36-save performance in Game 7 of round two to knock out the Predators.

The Golden Knights won the Semi-Final in five games, but Hellebucyk wasn't the issue. He wins Game one 4-2, loses Game two 3-1, drops Game three 4-2 (allows 3 goals) loses Game four 3-2 and Game five 2-1.

The issue in that series was definitely Marc-Andre Fleury. The only game Fleury didn't face over 30 shots was the first one, which the Jets won. The rest of the way he was outstanding.

Does anyone want to pay PLD to be a 3c? Not sure I like it in terms of cap management.

You have to think about it as an eight year acquisition.

The reason he would be attractive to the Kings is because of the age of their #1 center and their #2 center is 30 himself and has a skillset suited to be a #2 rather than a guy who could be a come a #1 after Kopitar retires or leaves via free agency.

The Kings would be bringing in a young guy that they could play on the wing for a year or two that would ultimately slide into a center role when a Top Six position opens up.

I’m pretty sure I said it could be another swing or a miss.

But you do you.
I have no skin in the game here, but saying “swing or a miss,” as you’re saying you did, is utterly meaningless. It would have to be hit or miss. You swing regardless. That swing either hits or it misses. So if you said, “swing or a miss,” it’s quite possible that anyone replying to you would have autocorrected your words into something that actually made sense
