LeBrun: Dubois wants out of Winnipeg, will not sign a contract for next season

I can cherry pick stats too. Like Hellebuyck's 3.44gaa and .886% being one of the biggest contributors to their demise.

Pionk had 7 points because he forgot where his own end of the ice was.

They had one top 6 forward with a plus rating in the series. That was Wheeler. Doesn't change the fact that in a disappointing result, his 4 points in 5 games, shooting %, face-off winning % put him near the top of team production. He was one of the few Jets forwards to try and make life difficult for Knights defenders too.
PLD sucked in playoffs this year, Jesus, he showed ZERO heart, zero compete and avoided hitting peopl, especially game 5!!!

Directly from LeBrun:

« And yes, the Habs remain an interested party. I believe Montreal GM Kent Hughes is making his rounds and has already checked in with Winnipeg on Dubois. Having said that, I don’t think Montreal is interested in paying a fortune in a trade, especially when you consider the player as of now would be a UFA in a year and any team could sign him then without giving up an asset. »

what is wrong with a player holding the cards to his own future? I personally wouldn’t want to commit a good percentage of my life to either of the locations he’s been 😂

I expect Dvo to go also but it will include Fla's 1st imo.

I'd be surprised if Chevy were able to squeeze that much after how much PLD seems to have tanked his value the past 2 years.

What do the Jets and PLD do if Hughes calls their bluff? Does PLD go to Europe for a year?

If your going to insist on adding Dvorak in all your offers, I‘ll insist on adding Dach in all my responses Until you get it through your heads we don’t want your garbage, regardless how hard you hope or repeat it
So what would make you happy as a return? Put some name on the table

Edit: I haven’t « made » an offer for Dubois in a very long time.

Some people aren't going to want to hear it, but a package around Dvorak for Dubois seems fairly inevitable at this point.

Dvo isn't a fit in Montreal, and the value on Dubois is at its lowest. Brisson is trying to put pressure on these clubs and the next thing to come out from him will be 'if the Habs won't trade for him, he's open to signing a long term deal elsewhere'.

I'd be very surprised if Dvorak + a cap dump isn't going the other way for a signed Dubois within the next 3 weeks, before his NT clause kicks in.
I don't know if you want to hear it but if the jets don't want dvorak then they just trade him to another team for a year...

"But yes, the Canadiens will be among the teams staying on the Jets and Dubois. They’re not alone, though. There are a few teams looking at it."

We have 2 extra 1st round picks that we can trade, Florida's this year and a future from Calgary, those are always valuable. The prospects with value I could see them trading are Harris, Mailloux, Roy, Farrell, Kidney, Beck, Mesar, Engstrom.

We just have to beat the next best offer, which is probably going to be pretty easy if PLD won't sign an extension
Mailloux is going nowhere.

You may not have a choice but to accept garbage for a rental. Late 1st and a mediocre young player (NewHook) / Prospect.

you don't think the jets can get better then the 31st pick and a cap dump? and pld doesn't go to europe rofll, he make far less money and would come back to jets still having 1 year of control over him

Honestly it sounds kind of perfect.

OTT isn't Montreal, but it's close (physically) and he would be near family and friends. He may resign there.

As for WPG, it's hard to imagine getting a better singular piece than Debrincat back in a trade for Dubois at this point. He'll be expensive, but they're going to be dropping their older expensive core over the next couple years anyway.

It sort of reminds of the Laine and Dubois trade.
DebrinCan't go to Winny if it is on his no trade list. :)

There’s no way Montreal passes on one of the very few Francophone young stars; they will pay whatever is necessary
THey won't pass. They will sign him next offseason. For Free Baby! lol

that's of course assuming the Habs are even interested! ;)

I understood that as well. All I’m saying is not to expect the moon from Montreal. Everything else is out of our hand and into PLD’s camp. We don’t control that

Exactly.

Hughes is in the driver seat, he knows he can sign him in a year for nothing. If a team desires to spend assets for him for a year, that is fine with him.

Stay the F away from Montreal. He is not worth giving up promising prospects in the habs pipeline for a big baby who is average and wants a trade every 2-3 years

He'd easily be a top 3 player on the Habs for years to come. Montreal doesn't have the luxury to pass on him if he wants to join them. Their top 6 is below average and they don't have any elite prospect in their pipeline.

A big centerman from Quebec that is only 24 and dreams of playing for his home team? They should absolutely trade for him. If the price is right.

can we get two different pld threads? one for montreal fans to offer then dvorak hoffman type packages and one for everyone else?

Exactly.

not if he signs with another team that trades for him..

Its obvious the Habs won't pay the asking price. They don't need to. They have good pieces in place and Dach has shown a ton of potential. They will just wait it out. PLD would make a good LW for Dach though!

Hard to have a discussion when the fall back of Habs fans is Dvorak and no discussion…
I’m not one of those who think we need to get a C in the return. If we aren’t getting a C worth while, why bother, get something else we need.
Barron + FLA 1st + would be something I’d be looking at
