Could you imagine the uproar if Ed declared he wanted out of Montreal and his desired location is Winnipeg? Us Habs fans would handle the situation with more class and a laissez-faire manner compared to how Winnipeg fans are handling the PLD drama! ;)

You realize that simply giving an offer sheet doesn't do anything right? PLD still has to agree to it.

You guys don’t have your 2nd for OS compensation, and he gets moved as a rental ASAP if it was known that you guys got your 2nd back in a trade.
As a rental to Colorado he easily gets a 1st and b prospect. He would be a moron to not sign a 1yr deal to play with Mac and Makar
This isn’t EA sports and some of you Habs fans are so out of reality when it comes to trades/offer sheets it’s ridiculous.

I’d also easily take the unprotected 1st as compensation.
But seriously, these offer sheet threats really are out in left field. It’s not going to happen. GMs don’t work like this and this isn’t EA sports and Habs fans seem to not realize this.

Didn’t Montreal already get schooled when they tried to offer sheet Aho? Aho gets the contract he wanted, Carolina gets a player that was drafted 3rd overall and Aho by sending a late 1st to Arizona and Montreal gets a cap dump in Dvorak. Then they have to sign young players who score 15 goals a year 8m just so Carolina doesn’t continue on their rampage. Plus the Habs constantly get ridiculed on social media by Carolina. I think Montreal management still wakes up in the middle of the night crying. They are too gun shy to offer sheet anyone. They are too afraid.

Oh btw….Carolina says boo. We are coming for Guehle in a couple years.

If I'm the Jets, I'm loving it. Montreal's 2024 1st is the best single piece I've seen as a possible return for PLD in any of these shitshow threads. Imagine the saltiness if it ends up being top 3 lol

Chevy drives PLD to the airport ASAP and laughs all the way to Rush Bay

Its only 1 year of Myers. He sucks but its the price you pay to get Pick 11. In this draft that is a pretty big deal and more than fair value for PLD. You then retain 50% on Myers at TDL.

And he's a RHD>

Jets would probably let Dubois go and bank on Montreal suuuucking again this upcoming season to give massive value to that first round pick.

And who's the 8M player on the Habs? None of their top players are paid 8M ! FYI.

And as for Suzuki, 7.8 M$ for a 70pts #1 C who also plays the PK and wins draws, GL finding that in the Peg.

Of course. Cape Breton opted to shop their superstar forward around because, y'know, reasons or something. And it's completely a coincidence that Dubois went from underperforming in Cape Breton that year to excelling in Blainville-Broisbriand.

I think the only thing more sickening than PLD's acts are the handful of Habs fans trying to be his unpaid PR staff so they don't feel like they're picking up an asshole.

I think the hockey world (including all Habs fans) know that PLD has serious character flaws. I am sure GMs will shy away from trading for him because of these obvious concerns. PLD is a selfish prick. Who loves Montreal. lol
 
Like Chycrun,this soap opera is starting to bore me.I could care less where he plays next year.Poor Winnepeg,can t retain their best players!

It feels kind of like a similar scenario, although you at least have your young guns locked in. I could see Dubois come in and make 10m and wipe out all that future cap flexibility Montreal has now.

Yeah. Plus Matthews, Marner, and Nylander were further along so he should have seen this possibility coming. But imagine if Montreal hits it big on several of their young players. Suddenly there are a lot of hungry mouths to feed.

Maybe instead of the hometown discount, Montreal should be insisting on a contract without a NMC/NTC?
