As for Winnipeg fans, i think you guys have to understand that the heart wants what the heart wants. Its not you, its PLD. Well, in fairness it is a bit of both. But At least he's not breaking up with you via text. Just hold onto the memories. The good times.

He didnt do anything to matthews

Matthews had more pts and outplayed PLD that series

PLD had 1 good game.

Leafs choked like they almost always do and CBJ played smart and structured with good goaltending

Dubois is a playoff no show. He 7 pts in 12 playoff games for the Jets

Thats worse than John Tavares at 8 pts in 11 games for the leafs this year alone.

Dubois is not a winner, playoff warrior or someone who can be regarded highly for his sacrifices he makes to win.

Based on comment from our Management + Caufield about trying to keep players under Suzuki's cap hit. I'd guess he comes in at 7.85.

I understand he has done it longer but he and Suzuki have produced at similar rates and are close in age so a close cap hit would make sense.

Also he wants to be a Hab reportedly take a small discount so we can try and win.

Has to include a team friendly hometown discount. If the Habs accommodate his dreams, he should accommodate the Habs cap needs. ;)

I think the bliss of playing for his dream team will result in a significant discount. Habs are doing him a favor and he will show his appreciation. 6M AAV. ;)

big difference between #17 and #31/32 and if trading one of Farrell,Mesar or Kidney is what it takes i do it without hesitating i dont see nothing special in them those guys are B prospects maybe Mesar has top 6 potentiel but for Dubois its worth it we wont get him by offering prospects with no potentiel every team has tons of them

ne ways will know hes real value in a couple days

Is Dubois really that interested in playing in Montreal? Are these rumors unfounded? Exagerrated? Is it a negotiating ploy to get an extra bidder? Whatever the case might be, if I was GMing the Habs, I would of course welcome any player that has interest in the team, but I would also demand that these players prove this interest. Are you ready to sign a team-friendly contract? If not, f*** off with your childhood dreams of playing with your favorite team.

This situation is different from Tavares because the player in question is currently a RFA. There is little incentive to trade for Dubois unless he commits to a team-friendly, sign-and-trade deal and the demands by Winnipeg are reasonnable.

Dubois, in terms of age, fits more with other teams that are on the edge of competing.

Carolina isn’t going to offer sheet anyone. They didn’t like it when Aho was offersheeted, and out of spite for Montreal being an idiot they fired back and taught them a lesson and even ridiculed them on social media. They know the code amongst GMs and are not going against that, case as they showed the Habs…you play with the bull you get the horn (or in Montreals case you get the 4.5m cap dump)

When Isles traded for Horvat we didn't know where the pick would end. Fact is at that moment the pick wasn't worth a 17th OA, nore like 20+.

Horvat is a much better player, hence the 10drop spots are the draft.
 
The dick move on Hughes would be to make him sign an offer sheet. 1y at less then $6.5M. Compensation would be a 1st and 3rd and Jets wouldn't be able to trade him at all.
But I can't see Hughes painting himself into a corner with the league by doing so.
