Look at his overall play since the contract, he has cost the team more big playoff games (and exits) than being a net positive.

To Katz the Oilers are his "PS5", a billionaire's toy to play with, when he originally bought the team he brought in so many 80's dynasty players for his own enjoyment...that should have been the first clue.

There are very few players would could do better than that at a comparable rate.

Some posters think they need another McDavid at league minimum to compete. Can’t really argue with people that are that naive

It would be nice to have Dylan Holloway over Skinner, but the Oilers need someone better then both of them.

Yes because none of their depth guys can do anything on the ice.

Keeping Holloway, Mcleod, Broberg changes their depth a lot. Guess it remains to be seen if Savoie is going to be a top-six player for them.

I also want to point out the irony that the few players they can actually draft and develop they got rid of for more expensive, older, slower versions of them.

Genuine star player. 38 points in 40 games since Montgomery took over and he's only 23. Not only has he been putting up great offensive numbers he's incredibly well rounded. Great defensive and checking game.

It's funny...

A few years ago, I asked what Holloway's upside was in the Oilers forum. I was told "3rd line center".

I'm happy to see he is excelling. The Oilers will rue the day they let him get away.

He looks to be eligible to sign an extension after the season. He is going to have a much better contract going forward. With the cap going up maybe he can command something close to $8 mil per? A great story and nice to see him develop into the player he was projected to be.
