LeBrun: Dubois wants out of Winnipeg, will not sign a contract for next season

Things like that happen. Dach was the 3rd OA pick and he did show some potential last year. Anyways, we are not trading Dach for Dubois so it's meaningless. You can have your assessment and we can have ours.

I am saying it's possible. I am not saying it will happen for sure. Who is changing their story? When did I personally say it will happen? If you are talking about me, you are once again drawing incorrect conclusions and have comprehension issues. If you are talking about someone else, go talk to them about it.
It was your buddy Niko Suzuki. I WAS talking to him about it when you read my post and butted in

It is getting less likely by the day that he’s going to Montreal after all. Today article from Basu pretty much killed that idea. Not only is Montreal not willing to give up Dach but they also don’t want to pay PLD 9M per. They would be open to a similar contract that Hintz got but they are not comfortable giving more.

Hughes also wants to build a package around Dvorak, Anderson and picks. That doesn’t seems like the kind of news you would expect to hear if you want PLD to go to Montreal
I 'm fine with moving on from PLD. Not willing to trade Dack ,our 5th OA and who the hell wants to pay 9 mil for a player that has never even hit 70 pts in a season?

I think some of the most cringe worthy things on HF is when people act like they are in control of the assets. You can say you don’t like what some random dude is proposing but it gets embarrassing when people say “X won’t do it lmao”

Like this dude above me.

The main part of the deal is probably Dubois for Vilardi and the Kings throw in a few prospects not named Clarke.

Maybe the Jets throw in Stanley and the Kings throw in Turcotte, Spence and something else? It will be something like that.

Dvorak has a 6 team no trade list and came from Arizona so I doubt he would bother to include it.

He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would care about living in Winnipeg too much, but it's hard when is is guaranteed a lower tax option, it's easy to say just don't send me anywhere in Canada

I could honestly care less if pld goes to la or Carolina or new York.

The only time you'll see me having a meltdown is if Montreal acquires him with a market value trade package.

I want him for dirt cheap or not at all
Understood...

We'll put you in the "not at all" category.

Thank the hockey gods if all of that is true!

I'm not adamantly against the idea of Dubois in Montreal, but the price in assets and the salary should make sense.

The problem with him, he isn’t or doesn’t represent any or much value in a trade so not sure how the Habs would ever put together a competitive offer with him as any main piece

Dubois to MTL only makes sense if Suzuki is going the other way. A Dubois/Suzuki one-two punch won't win you a Stanley Cup. And it's not like you can sign a third centre at 8 million a season.

If I'm Montreal, I'm passing on Dubois and just tanking and drafting.

There would never be a PLD for Suzuki trade bc one is signed long term and one isn’t and they hold virtually the same value (contracts aside).

I’m not counting the Habs out until the trade is done, but I’m doubtful he goes there partly bc Habs don’t have the pieces available to get him and partly it would screw up their rebuild and pay structure

I mean he's mostly there just to offset the cap, and because he's our high cap guy with the least negative value. 1st + Prospect would be the main pieces with Dvorak as the roster player involved

Is it impossible? No

Dvorak represents no value (or very little), he’s just a cap move.

Is it likely? Not so sure depending on which 1st and which prospect. Bc the roster piece adds basically no value the real return would be the pick and prospect. The prospect would have to be one the Jets really want and near NHL ready, plus the pick would have to be a good one or multi picks/prospects more as a quantity offer which not sure would be the best offer.

Fun times, it’s exciting to me

I think I'll only have a meltdown if he gets traded somewhere else for a weak package and signed to a reasonable contract. Like if Carolina trades Kotkaniemi for him straight up and signs him to an 8x7.5 I'll be pretty salty
