Better than Lou at "getting it done".

how many playoff series wins has Lou had with the NYI and how many playoff series wins has Dubas had as a Leaf? im thinking Rance, Garth and Dubas are all tied up at ZIPPO lol

How much of that 116 point pace is due to playing Ottawa, Vancouver and Calgary 9 to 10 times a season and Zero against TB, BOS, PITT, WAS, COL, etc etc and all the other good teams?

Leafs aren't playing 24 of the 30 other NHL teams or 80% of the league and only playing 6 of the 24 or 20%.

So I guess you can see Leafs are on a 116 point pace when compared to just 20% of the overall NHL teams.

We don't get to play against the California teams, Buffalo, Detroit, Jersey, etc. to boost our record either. We aren't the only ones who get to bully weak teams. In fact, unlike the Central and West, we don't have 5 weak teams to bully. We only have 3 weak teams. So if anything, our record is one of the more impressive ones in the NHL.

The two bottom teams seems arbitrary. I'd take last years standings for all teams and calculate average. Ppg for each division.

I haven't done the math but I suspect our division is indeed weak, but not so weak that it's a huge deal.
I mean taking the Average PT/G from a different year is not the greatest way to determine quality of division. Truth is there is no perfect way to determine it. My argument was that each division basically has 3 of the 4 seeds locked up. With 2-3 teams fighting for that last spot. Leaving the bottom 2 teams in each division virtually eliminated. These bottom feeders I used as a reference point on how many “easier” games the remaining teams faced. In the North there are no gimme’s was the point I was trying to make. Either way, the leafs are a very good team.

I seriously have to question if he actually thinks prior to posting, or even more scary - perhaps he does?

It's not perfect and I agree there is no perfect way. It is however, the best way that I can think of and it certainly makes more sense to me than looking at the bottom 2 teams only. Doesn't really matter anyway, the playoffs will tell us what's what.

Dubas is young and has glasses too.
I find it so weird that it seems the main reason for the Dubas love is that he wears glasses. Why not just like him for what he’s done for the team?

I still think we should try to add another forward and D. Really can’t understate the importance of depth for a playoff run, even been as deep as we already are.

I'm thinking that given 16 years, if you think Lou's record constitutes "getting it done" you'll be lining up to have Kyle's babies.

apparently you think its easy to win a Cup, how long has it been since the Leafs have won and how many GM;s from 67 until now have the Leafs had? Dubas was gifted this elite team with enough spare parts to make trades, do you think this team is a guaranteed cup winner?

The funny thing too is the Leafs had a winning record against Tampa last season.

And we miss out on joining the beat down on the Sabres.

Who said it's easy to win a Cup (other than apparently you inventing an argument I never made)? The only standard I set was winning a playoff round, which Lou has managed 5 times in 16 years and you apparently think is "getting it done for decades". As stated, if you think that constitutes success, give Kyle 16 years and I suspect you'll be first in line to have his babies if that is all "success" means.

By the by, the "elite" team he inherited? Only a couple pieces on this team had anything to do with Lou and only a couple pieces on the 105 point team had anything to do with Lou.
