Alright, let's take most people's favorites off the board.

We pick 6th, and Hughes, Kakko, Cozens, Byram and Turcotte are off the board.

Your pick is_____________.

I'm going Kaliyev at 6 if all those guys are off the board

When watching Dorofyev highlights he looks like Kravtsov light. Very slippery when coming of the boards in the o-zone. Good on his edges, and at finding the space needed in the prime areas in front of the goal. Sneaky shot, but not a laser.

Yep. Get me Dorofeyev in June please!

I so hope we end up with Hughes, Kakko, Cozens or Byram but lets say we get Dach, Krebs or Zegras would they be considered better prospects than Kravtsov?

@Edge any thoughts on Robert Mastrosimone?

I ask because I think I’m related to him

Solid option for the second round.

Great shot, figures to be more of a goal scorer at the collegiate level.

On the smaller side, but has a knack for getting in scoring position.

I think he’s a longer term prospect - let him round out his game and get stronger over several years.

I think Zuccarello coming back could give that team a big boost. Not to mention Benn.

They sorta remind of the 2014 Rangers honestly. Nashville/Winnipeg aren’t exactly rolling right now, I wouldn’t be shocked if Dallas squeaked by either team.

Maybe. They've got a great program down there. The Czechs have done a fabulous job of building a community there. Hung out with Faksa's crew. Easy team to root for, and Heiskanen is a difference maker, but there is a significant drop-off from the top line to the 2nd line, and the 3rd line to the 4th line based on the roles they play. Same with the D-Core.

Team does a great job of keeping things to the outside. I called the Rangers getting shutout that game to a bunch of fans that wanted to make a bet. Saw the 1st 8 minutes, and was like... they aren't scoring tonight. That was a 1-0 game if I recall correctly. Rangers had an anemic offense, but the top teams in the west, they will make the most of that matchup.

I hope they make it since I want that extra 1st, but am doubtful.

I'd suspect it'd be more like the Miller trade up and pick. They see a guy they really like that's within a reasonable striking range for a trade up and want to jump on it. Jumping from the end of round 1 into the teens doesn't make a ton of sense IMO...what team is going to give up that pick and why? And what would it cost the Rangers and would it make sense to pay it?

WPG plus the Rangers second might get you from 26 to 22/21. I think there will be good value picks later, but unless a Miller like player falls (underplayed with high potential that a number of teams were interested in), then I don't see it happening.

Yeah, I’d save 5 slots is about the limit for most teams when it comes to swapping picks in the 20s, and that depends on how they view the second round.

Last year’s second round was probably viewed a bit more favorable at around this same point in the season.

If someone is looking to get into the teens, you’re probably talking about moving roster players, or a pick+roster player combo.

Out of that group, I would probably take Suziki first. Tempted by Poulin, but think that he may fall to the second round, where the Rangers will have an early crack to get him.

Poulin has pedigree would be a great value pick up, I've got reliable connections in Moncton, and they say that Pelletier is the best player to come through there this decade outside of Garland. That's high praise in my books. I've got a couple of other guys I would take over the concensus rankings.

Ryan Johnson- One of the best skaters in the draft
Marshall Warren- Played with my friends son at an elite prep school on the island, am a little biased there.
Seider- Not sure if he'll slide. Big RHD
Korczak- Big RHD, plays on an offensively challenged team. Numbers aren't the end all with him
Kokkonen- Would be a great 2nd rounder imo... you let him cook and develop. Flying under the radar

If it's 26 and 31 for the other first rounders, I'd love to add Pelletier and one of the defenseman above.

Agree. I look at it this way, if a roster player is going to garner a pick from 14-18 along side a 4th, for said 1st rounder I'd easily make that deal.

Let's say the Rangers get the 5th pick, take Cozens.

14th pick. Take Broberg.

26th pick. Take Pelletier.

31st pick. Take Seider.

37th pick Take Warren.

And gain cap space along the way... that crystallizes a core moving forward with trade with added cap space.
