True but Ola is great most of the time.
Haha, Irish is just kicking me in the balls as usual. I never said that we should take Knight over Byram, I would hate taking either (that high). Just think others are inconsequential being dead set to not take a goalie but having no problems taking a LD.
And just for the record, another big problem is that
other team's in this league certainly is not going BPA either as regards to LDs/RDs. If Brännström is a RD he never lasts to 15 and if Liljegren is a LD he doesn't go 17th overall. Rasmus Sandin lasted to 29th, due to being a LD. I think he goes 10 spots higher as a RD. Does Filip Johansson go 24th overall, 5 spots ahead of Sandin, if he was a LD instead of RD???
Its more or less impossible to get those RDs unless you draft them high, teams knows that. The RDs get handicapped on draft day and goes higher in the draft.
I fully agree with don't take a goalie high notion. But I also think you need to value LDs according to their worth, i.e. that there de facto are two great LDs for every great RD. If we think Byram is a sure fire franchise D and do not think we are passing on a top forward to get him -- sure draft Byram. Hands down. A franchise D is a franchise D and I would take McAvoy over like a Sam Reinhart 20 of 20 times. But I do not feel like Byram vs Turcotte, vPod, Cozens, Kakko and co are on par with McAvoy vs like Sam Reinhart at all. JMHO.
