Would you guys be happy with Heinola with a late first? I think he’s underrated. I haven’t seen him often, but his stats look very good, and many Finnish posters are very high on him. They’ve compared him to Heiskanen, and said he’s better than Jokijarju and Vaakanainen.

Heinola isn’t on Heiskanen’s level and I doubt he’ll end up close to Heiskanen. At the time of their respective drafts, Heinola is a better prospect than Jokiharju and Vaakanainen but Jokiharju has taken massive steps forward

To be honest, Heinola impresses me more than Reunanen (who’s having a great year) whenever I view Lukko. He’s better defensively than Reunanen right now. Though Heinola’s size is a concern, he has no problems defending against men and makes smart plays in the D zone. Very few mistakes. Has a great shot as well. Currently I have Heinola at 21 though he’ll probably rise more for me.
I don’t think we’re drafting a LHD in the first round though, Byram included

I didn’t really mean on the same level as Heiskanen, although I worded it poorly. More of a playing style comparison. I’ve only seen him play once not including the WJC, so I don’t know if this is accurate.

Ehhh they’re not really similar playstyle wise either, Heinola has to work on his skating/speed first. He’s not a bad skater, but for his size it needs to be a bit more dynamic. Whereas Heiskanen is among the best. Heinola prefers to shoot more as well and usually passes it out of the zone, Heiskanen liked to skate more with the puck

Yes, but I wouldn't say Heiskanen is a good comparison. Doesn't have that top end speed, but he's a solid, all around, mobile defender. I could see a little bit of Detroit's prospect Dennis Cholowksi in him, stylistically.

Is it known where he’s playing next year?

Not sure, maybe another year at Sioux City....

TBH, he might be playing with Denver next season if he goes in the 1st round. If I'm not mistaken, Farabee wasn't supposed to be playing for BU this season. Was slated for the NCAA at the 19/20 season, goes in the 1st round of the draft and all of a sudden is a true freshman this year. Not sure how that happened, but I think a similar situation would be in line for Brink, as well.

Well, we’ve talked about going for homeruns. We’ve talked about the fact that big swings can also lead to more strikeouts.

So with that in mind, I’d expect that most people will probably want to continue that trend in 2019.

I agree we need high end talent. Just saying from your description of him it sounded exactly like Lias.

I know this was from a while ago, but it really shows how big of an impact Brink has. He’s also one of the younger players in the draft.

It’s funny. I like Broberg, but not quite as much as some. I’ve never had him in my top 5, or top 10 for that matter.

When we talk about guys going in the top 10 who we aren’t really talking about on here, he’s fairly high on the list.

TBH, I don't even have him as a 1st round talent. Lots of wariness in decision making and not so consistent in controlling the puck. His speed and offensive ability will put him in the 1st round, though. He's also consistently playing a men's league, so that'll also give him merit to the 1st round.

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something about Krebs I don’t like

He's an interesting one. My guys out west have a polarized view on Krebs.

It's either he's doing a great job because he's playing on what is just a terrible team, or he's putting up those numbers because he's the only one close to an offensive threat and is getting a lot of prime ice time.

He was good in the WJCA, and he played an aggressive game at the prospects camp.

He's got a little Sam Bennet in him from the sounds of it.
