Krebs has been on the radar for this draft since his AAA midget days, taken #1 in WHL bantam draft and HF buzz started around January of 2017 when he first came up in WHL and had a goal and three assists in his first game.

He's been playing Center ice this season and that's pretty intriguing. Pretty talented kid, I wouldn't be shocked if he made an appearance in the top 10 of the draft.

I started looking at Dach, I have no clue where the "He can't skate, he's slow" comes from.

He should be the 3rd forward.. He seems like a complete player. And arguably the 3rd pick

I think it's one of those things that gets perpetuated in scouting reports and just sort becomes the gospel based on that. He lacks a great top-gear, and his first few steps are heavy, but he's not a bad skater by any stretch. It's one of those traits that gets hyper analyzed with kids at the top of the draft because they're all such good players and you have to nitpick to be able to pick and choose between them.

I had him at #3 for most of the year but Byram just recently bumped him out of that spot. That's in part due to Dach slowing down a bit, but more due to Byram just getting better and better as the year goes on.

BTW, mynhldraft.com has their updated mock, and has the Rangers taking Lavoie at 23 (with the Jets pick). And, @MahomesIsGod , you’ll be thrilled to know that they have the Rangers taking Zegras @8.

Zegras and Lavoie would be sick

I know some people hate Lavoie but at 23 he’s a great pick.

Princeton losses in ecac tourney last night ending its season. Expect kuffner and verreneau to be signed in the near future.

Lavoie at 23 isn’t bad, Lavoie in the teens or top 10 does nothing for me.

Having said that, and I know this phrase means little under the circumstances, he doesn’t feel like a Rangers first round pick.

Disappointing ending to their season, but I like Kuffner.

Brady Keeper had a huge game on both sides of the puck for Maine last night, would love to get him into the fold.

More interested in Kuffner based on age and scoring ability. Scoring 20 goals is impressive in college hockey and he almost scored 30 last year. He'll be 23 to start

Veronneau is the one I’m more interested in. He’s right handed, and more of the playmaker on that line

Goal scoring doesn’t translate as well for a lot of these guys coming out of college.

I would assume the Rangers cleared contract slots to sign at least one, maybe two college FA’s

I like Verroneau too, but I figure he's signing in Vegas or NJ as he attended their camps in the past.

Kuffner has attended Ottawa's camp in the past, his great-uncle won the cup with Ottawa in 1927. Not sure if Ottawa would be a great fit for him though so I think he may explore his options.

Hockey east tournament starts next weekend so Keeper not available for at least another week.

How do you think he would pass a wide range of skating tests against the best skating 5’10-11 170-180 lbs centers out there? They would leave him in the dust. The game is so much about skating right now. Take the most skilled guys for the skill roles, you can compensate for size with guys like Lemieux and the likes.

I don't like the idea of taking Zegras at 8 with Turcotte going at 9, but with Turcotte, Zegras, Newhook, Boldy on the board when the Rangers are picking, thats a good position to be in. Also with Brink at 21 I wouldn't mind trading up and grabbing him.

It’s funny. I like Broberg, but not quite as much as some. I’ve never had him in my top 5, or top 10 for that matter.

When we talk about guys going in the top 10 who we aren’t really talking about on here, he’s fairly high on the list.

#brobergbeforehoberg

I like him but think there are better players around 9th overall and I doubt he makes it to 25th

And to go further I would take @Amazing Kreiderman choice of Dorofeyev who is criminally underrated in this mock at 31 too.

Two big challenges, among many others, in this draft:

1. How special is Zegras playmaking ability? He got a bit of the Elias P swagger. Its not enough for it to be really good, it must be great/unique/special or whatever if you get what I mean.

2. I love Caufield’s finnishing ability, intensity around the net and what not.

The big question is of course, how will his motor transform to the next level? It’s one of those things that will impact his drafting position with up to 30-40 spots.

Right now there are only 5 guys that I can’t see going anywhere but the top 10:

Hughes, Kakko are locks.

Byram, Cozens and Dach are over 90 percent likely.

Outside of that, I’d say there’s no one else who doesn’t at least have a modest chance of going outside the top 10.

That means there are a handful of other names that could slide into various slots after the top two.

Outside of the point and who most of the top centers in scoring this year are big guys. Crosby is one of the shortest centers and hes a tank. The best skating centers like McDavid, eichel, and MacKinnon are all 6 foot plus and 200+ pounds. I see very few 5'10" 170-180 pound impact centers in the nhl.

He'd be similar to Zibanejad
