Joel Farabee leading BU in scoring, as a freshman.

And looking better than Wahlstrom, with almost twice as many points and not having to be the guy who covers for everyone.

Why did it have to be the Flyers?

Ugh.
Unfortunately, a lot of the players I really liked last year ended up on teams in the metro

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something about Krebs I don’t like
Based on my very rudimentary impression of the two players, Krebs seems more like a guy who makes his linemates whereas Boldy seems like a guy whose linemates make him.

I could be completely off base, that’s just the impression I get. And that’s not to say that Boldy is being carried, more that he isn’t the type of player who will do the heavy lifting.

I remember quite a few people last draft liking Farabee over Wahlstrom as far as forwards were concerned.

I’m not super into Boldy either, if I’m going for a winger that’ll be available past 7-8ish, I’m going Caufield all the way

Edit: I think I’d take Brink over Boldy too

I like them both around 10, arguments for and against most can really be made once you get out of the top 2 and Byram for defenseman.

I remember quite a few people last draft liking Farabee over Wahlstrom as far as forwards were concerned.

I made the argument that the talent and offensive ability was not nearly as far apart as some were making it out to be. I cited all kinds of numbers, provided context, etc.

There was a lot of resistance to Farabee's offensive potential and ability.

I'll repeat what I said last year, I think this kid has a great shot at making people wonder how they missed him in his draft year.

If people really want the most skilled and talented player, Newhook is the pick. Only downside is the level of competition.

I saw that on one of your earlier posts. Krebs is one of my favorites out of this class. I have him #8, ahead of Dach and Boldy.

Krebs and Kaliyev kind of seem like the opposite options on the wings, with someone like Caufield splitting the difference.

Krebs seems more likely to translate his game to the NHL, though maybe not as a high-end, top offensive options. Kaliyev is more of a high-risk/high-reward options. Caufield's ceiling probably isn't as high Kaliyev, but he doesn't quite have the well-rounded game of Krebs.

I think comparing Laine to Boldy is extremely disingenious. Do you think Boldy is a future 40 goal scorer? Do you think he’ll score 40 as a teen? Otherwise, a ridiculous comparison.
The comparison to Laine was utilized in your complimentary player view.

But yes, I do think that Boldy has 30 goal potential. Does he have 40? Maybe. Bit too early to tell. No one could have predicted this of Laine either. And let's not forget, we have no idea if he will score that many again.
Kreider makes a LOT more sense. Even then, I’d argue that his potential upside when drafted was greater than Boldy’s. Boldy seems like a guy who’s good at everything and not particularly fantastic in a specific area. He certainly sounds very similar to one our recent top picks that people never quit complaining about...
On draft day? Sorry no. Krieder's draft day potential did not exceed Boldy. The similarity is that both were and are projected to be top line wings.

Boldy is NOTHING like Anderson.

The issue around these parts was once you mention that someone has a 200 foot game and hustles, the thought process was that Farabee was a "safe" player with no offensive skills.

Is he a top of the line skater? Like, elite? Or very good? I know Kaliyev is fairly meh.
I don’t know about elite, but he’s definitely quick. He’s got a shot that can beat goalies clean, but he doesn’t necessarily rely on it to score goals, he scores a lot from being in close to the goalie. I don’t think he’ll be a guy that can be the focal point of a team’s offense, but I think he can be an Atkinson/Debrincat level support/compliment piece to a team.

Here’s a shift by shift video of him from the U18’s (22 in blue)

So who is your Farabee this year?

My personal favorite player is Byram, followed closely by Cozens.

If you're looking for someone who isn't necessarily in everyone's top 10, I really like Newhook.

I want two picks in the top 15.

Outside of Hughes or Kakko, I'd be most happy with a Byram/Newhook draft, followed by Cozens/Dorofyev, Krebs,York, Caufield, or Broberg.

Zegras seems like a steal in our range, I get serious Barzal/Giroux vibes from him. He has eyes in the back of his head.

I feel like you can get 31 scouts in a room and find a near even split between Zegras and Turcotte.

Maybe, a 16-15 vote for Turcotte. But in almost every instance, one of them would be right behind the other.

Outside of winning the lottery, I’m feeling like Cozens is the Rangers’ 1st choice and Turcotte is 2nd. Or maybe that’s just me.

I mentioned it in maybe the K’Andre Miller thread, but Turcotte reeeeally feels like a guy that would check a lot of the Rangers boxes
