He's awful. Worse than Julien. Danault had reclaimed spot #1. Good times.

How did Danault reclaimed spot No1 when he doesn't play with the best wingers of the team? Wasn't it the whole point of our whining about hims playing with, at the time, the 2 two best wingers in TAtar and Gallagher? Are TAtar and Gallagher the 2 best wingers of our team? Is Danault playing on the PP making him for sure a No1 C as every No1 C plays on the PP?

I will say this though....Ducharme is immensely dissapointing right now. It's out of character to be that prudent. He can't be that dumb. And at this point, there's just NO WAY he gets the team next year if that continues. Not sure why he doesn'T see that.

Didnt get to see the ot, but I’m not even surprised that Danault/Byron started it, I watched it this morning and while neither cost us the game I just don’t understand why we keep repeating our same mistakes. 0-9 in ot/shootout and we’ve got KK, Suzuki,Anderson,Toffoli,Tatar, Gallagher watching 2 goal danault and the guy who cleared waivers starting a 3-3. Its insane.

I really thought Dom would prove to be bedder..............an upgrade from CJ but still some pretty sad decisions.
Stay tuned, maybe Carbo or Jacques Martin can come back for their 2.0 stints!

This coaching carousel will continue until this organization starts hiring coaches/GMs based on their ability and not what language they speak.

Couldn't agree more...........but man does that discussion bring out some serious wacko posters.
It's unfortunate the habs can't just be a hockey team, run by the best people. Sam Pollock is turning over in his grave at the last 5-6 years.

I was hopeful but only KK and Drouin seem any different.

The vets like Armia and Byron know they are safe no matter how little they try.

He keeps going back to the original donut line, err Danault line to shovel garbage but not produce.

There have been like 3-4 games where the team are sleepwalking since he took over.

The vets run the team, not the coach it seems as none are held accountable

It really is. We are attempting to compete with one hand tied behind our back. I can see that if we have two equal candidates and one is English and one is French, that we lean towards the Francophone, but to limit our options right out of the gates is asinine IMO.

It shouldn't matter whether our coach is male or female, what race they are or what language they speak. Just hire the most qualified individual for the position.

It not only affects coaching or the GM job, but actual on ice talent.

we could have had Sergachev to fill on the hole on defence, instead Bergevin trades for Drouin.

They're just going to hire shitty coaches who speak English next

Your 100% right, its not that they only hire french coaches its that they seem to hire the same style of coach, low risk, low excitement , middling results. Its time to stop repeating the same mistakes, stop punishing the exciting players that show any hint of a personality and move into the future.

This starts by firing the person responsible for hiring hockey personnel.
The French requirement should be null and void for any position in the organization.

but then the government might step in to appease the opposition parties. /shrug

Starts and ends with Molson (or whoever the next owner is of the Montreal Canadiens). He needs to step and show some leadership, and make it known their hiring policy is going to change moving forward. If anyone doesn't like it then they can stop following the team. Until he takes a stand, nothing will change.

He's getting past the adjustment phase period of grace...

Not seeing much positive overall in the teams play or performance consistency at this point. He's gonna need to put a positive stamp on that soon or else it'll be clear it needs to be open hiring call once the season ends.

Yep was watching RDS last night for the game and they had Guy Boucher on. I am almost certain it's his chance next

I know lots of posters hate the thought... But imo he'd be one of the best candidates.

Teacher & student, the kind of leader who will have learnt from his last experiences.

With the roster & prospect pool we have, I think Boucher is well suited to balance getting as much out of them while also building the young players for future success.

Would support that hire... But also needs a competent GM to be hired at same time.
