He is not "interim" for no reasons. He was a cheap alternative, quick fix, when MB fired Julien and his 7,5 M $ still attached to his contract.

Correct, one more thing i add, he was one MB felt could dictate exactly what he wants to

Can’t believe this guy has the capabilities to adapt the system or counter the Leafs.

Which sucks, because he clearly doesn’t have what it takes to motivate the players and make them come out strong.

It’s like the worst of both worlds. You knew Martin wasn’t the guy to motivate the guys but you could count on the guys buying his system. Demers wasn’t the greatest with Xs and Os but he could motivate a mule to run like a horse.

Ducharme doesn’t have any redeeming qualities.

At first, like most, some excitement when he was hired, especially after the first few games as the team play was more cohesive and the young guns were playing more.

Since, game by game, he's gotten worse and led the team to what we've seen for the past month or so.

My biggest beef is the blender, game in, game out, even period by period. He seems to be so disatisfied with any of his lines that he changes them almost every period. There is just no consistency. Players must be frustrated - they're certainly playing so.

And now, Gustafsson over Kulak? Over Romanov? Has he seen his effort level? Has he seen Romanov's?

I liked Julien for the most part. But maybe he'd lost the room.

I think its less that he lost the room and more that he wasn't getting goaltending.

Not saying Montreal wins this series with Julien (the D is still a major issue, as is the transition game), but while coaches tend to have a limited impact on results from rosters, there's evidence that Ducharme's impact has been meaningfully negative.

He was put is a tough position, clearly the issue isn’t just the coach this team doesn’t have the skills to compete with the top tier team and we never tank so we won’t won’t be able to compete with the next waves either. It is sad for DD but the team didn’t improve which was predictable but we didn’t even see a spark clearly he isn’t improving anything...
