If your retort to my early comment is it's over my head than you are clearly just ducking. I posted this before and you avoided it for obvious reasons.

A couple weeks ago all you did was discounting the record against the wig outside of the top seven or so teams, and you kept pointing to the record against those top seven or so teams as a reason why this is not a good team necessarily.

Now that they be a few of those teams that are in that top seven suddenly those winds don't matter because they played poorly against the other teams.

This team can be maddeningly inconsistent but the bottom line is that it's a team that wins games, and it's winning it with about a third of the roster being AHL quality players. At some point you have to accept the fact that they are not a bad team. They are an incredibly frustrating team at times, but they're not a bad team. Bad teams aren't 30 13 4

And there's a difference between pointing out obvious flaws on a roster and literally projecting that you're happier to see the team lose so you can try to prove that you're right versus watching your team win and prove you wrong. I don't know if you understand that or not, but that's exactly what you project, that you would rather see this team absolutely implode so that you can run around here and say you were right about how bad they were then to actually see the good that's coming out of it

It's over your head at this point. It's ok, one day maybe you'll understand. Do yourself a favor and go rewatch the previous three games and let me know how you think they played in those ones.

Oh and I always love the corny "OH YOU CALL OUT THIS TEAMS OBVIOUS FLAWS YOU MUST BE DEVILS/ISLANDERS FAN"

Get some new material.

After good wins your name should be Happy, but.

One of those games where it’s easier to list the guys who played like crap. Looking at you, Hajek, Gauthier, McKegg.
These three aren't NHL players unfortunately. We all had high hopes for Gauthier but seems he is just a decent size player with wheels. Hopefully at least 2 of 3 will be shown the beautiful luxury box at MSG. 3 of 3 will be nice but I figure one of Mckegg or Gauthier is gonna stay in

It is probably a symptom of 4 players having great games but Goodrow deserves a little love in the poll. He was excellent in the third.

Hunts on pace for around 16 pts over a full season, has some pace and get retrieve a puck. Less experienced than some, but outside of Johnson and the legend of Maroon, I don't think he looks wildly out of place in this lineup (scientifically done by taking the 3 lowest TOI forwards in the final game of the SCF):

20-21 - Johnson, Joseph, Maroon
19-20 - Paquette, Volkov, Maroon
18-19- Blais, Edmundson, Maroon
17-19 - Djoos, Burakosky, Stephenson

I think he’s hideously out of place with those names.

Hunt had an excellent game and has been good everytime he hasn't been saddled with Reaves. He probably shouldn't be on the 2nd line but who else would you put there right now?

Hunt slowed down a bit after the injury, but if he can rest up during the break and find his simpler game again he will be an asset. He shouldn't try to do too much with the puck.

Damn I’m in the zone..... I almost called this one perfectly on page 3 of the game day thread down to the goal scorers.......
Am I that good? Or is it destiny??
Impressive!!! Unfortunately I did not take it to the bank or Fan Duel

Hunt-Rooney-Gauthier might be a useful 4th line. There's some speed on the puck for a forecheck and Goat at least can hold on to the puck

Guys, guys, I totally forgot that Carolina, Tampa, Florida, etc play perfect games through all 82 of a season with zero complaints, zero stretches of bad games even if its only 2 or 3 in a row. Rangers are not qualified to be where they are. It is magic. Witchcraft.

Yeah, but if you point that out and say the Rangers can win it all if they go on a Blues style run? That there are no great teams this year and if the Rangers sort out their weaknesses (transition, speed, 5v5 etc) they may have a great shot in the post-season? Are you a debbie downer then and a whinger?

Accusing diehards who hang around here all day of being islanders fans just because they are unhappy with an obviously flawed team is pretty low even for a homer.

I just checked page 3 of the GDT and you are NOT good. You are Chris Kreider Good !!!

Yeah but I doubt GG would trust him like he trusts the rest of the 4th line possibilities including Mckegg/Reaves.

I think there's a good point to be made that the Rangers are not yet consistent enough to be a true contender threat. They CAN play a good game and beat good teams, but they don't do it consistently enough and often rely too heavily on their goalie or some individual skill plays that might not be there when things get tight in the playoffs.

If they want to go deep in the playoffs they need to start bringing it like they did in the second half of this game and bring it far more often.

Part of that may still just be a learning process. If not, then you can bet Drury will continue to turn over the roster until he finds players who will bring that
