Your crystal balls be correct. Thank you JD. Our young D is really really exciting. Drury has his hands full in a good way who to keep and who to possibly deal
And Robertson is coming....
And another 6’4 200 plus pounder that can skate smoothly and move the puck.
They better not trade him... he’s like the forgotten man all of a sudden.
With what we have on the right, if move Lundkvist before Robertson.

10 of Kreider's goals are deflections, 16 are tap-ins, 5 are wrist shots, 1 snap shot and one empty netter he skated in.

So 26 of Kreider's league-leading 33 goals are directly around the net, mostly garbage goals.

But when Lafreniere gets a tap-in it's unacceptable? Lol.

How has nobody mentioned this yet?

A goal is a f***ing goal.

Here are Lafreniere's first 8 goals of the season. I think he's doing just fine.

the most important skill in hockey is knowing where the puck is going to be and being in the right place. the fact that he gets so many chances for tap-ins or huge wide open nets where he's all by himself is actually incredibly promising.

Raichu...we've evolved!
Shochu…now we’re cookin!

There are a few guys positionally where their development is a bonus.

Robertson for a forward prospect makes sense with where the depth is- Keane for Gauthier didn't really work out for either team, but a Robertson for equivalent center prospect at a similar stage in development would make sense.

It is probably a symptom of 4 players having great games but Goodrow deserves a little love in the poll. He was excellent in the third.
It's like he doesn't even exist. Unfortunately, all the little things he does from killing penalties, Playing anywhere in the lineup, making subtle smart plays don't really show up in the stat sheet.

Great win. Very impressive. Took over the second half of this game with authority. Looked like FLA was awestruck in the second half. They were like forget this game. There wasn't a damn thing they could do to get back into it.

I doubt it will be enough to shake off withdrawal symptoms for the next two weeks, but I couldn't be happier going into the break.

And is Kreider for real? Career best 33 goals midway through the season? I think we all know he will tail off in the 2nd half, but even so he still might get 50. Signing him long term sure looks like it has lit a fire under him.

You know Gallant will be smiling ear to ear in the postgame after this performance.

I think he will prob make 1 of Miller/lindgren expendable tbh. They would bring back the more established asset.
Especially when you factor in our cap situation.
He should be just about ready when miller’s ELC is up and lindgren is due for a raise

These three aren't NHL players unfortunately. We all had high hopes for Gauthier but seems he is just a decent size player with wheels. Hopefully at least 2 of 3 will be shown the beautiful luxury box at MSG. 3 of 3 will be nice but I figure one of Mckegg or Gauthier is gonna stay in

Get this team healthy with the returns of Fox, Kakko, and Chytil, add a top 6 forward and bottom 6 depth guy, and just play a 3rd pair of Schneider and Jones and this team can compete.

Gauthier needs to find his motor if he wants to stay in the league. The dude is big and has wheels, but coasts and waits for the play to develop instead of keeping his feet moving and being aggressive.

Could go a lot of ways, just have to hope Drury picks the right move. With Jones, Robertson, and Lundkvist, the Rangers have three young assets who are pretty darn good
Moving Miller or Lindgren is more fraught since they are more known quantities but depending on what's coming back it also remains an option
Worst thing Drury coudl end up doing though is dithering and trying to hold on to everyone and not getting anything good in return

I think there's a good point to be made that the Rangers are not yet consistent enough to be a true contender threat. They CAN play a good game and beat good teams, but they don't do it consistently enough and often rely too heavily on their goalie or some individual skill plays that might not be there when things get tight in the playoffs.

If they want to go deep in the playoffs they need to start bringing it like they did in the second half of this game and bring it far more often.

Part of that may still just be a learning process. If not, then you can bet Drury will continue to turn over the roster until he finds players who will bring that
Let's wait and see what a better schedule does.

Its pretty clear Lundkvist is the odd man out on defense. Gallant doesnt fully trust Jones so i doubt we see the Jones-Schneider pairing this year, but at least hes in the lineup. Schneider already looks like a long term core piece. Very exciting player. Nemeth might look better with a guy like Schneider who can skate, defend and move the puck so i assume they will be together during the stretch run unless they acquire a rental

They should slow play Robertson in Hartford and replace Lindgren with him when his contract is up in 3 years.

I agree. Size isn’t the end all be all. But when you have big talented guys that can skate, move the puck, etc to go along with reach, physicality etc it’s a pretty rare and wanted commodity.
I def wouldn’t give him up unless we’re getting a damn good return.
Between miller/Robertson/Schneider, that’s a lot of grade A beef on the backend. Trouba too, but he won’t be here beyond his contract, probably earlier... Fox can hopefully be Fox for us for a long time. Future is def bright on the blueline.

I've been as critical as anyone else throughout his career, and I can honestly say that even without all the goals, at this point I don't get why they don't pin the C to his chest. I noticed a change in him when he came back from having those blood clots. Before I thought he was a headstrong egomaniac, after there was gratitude and much more attention to the bigger picture. I'd be really surprised if we go the whole season without seeing him named Captain.

I wonder how much of that is based on analytics rather than points because I can see the point that Panarin might be generating a whole lot fewer shots lately
However with his skill you can assume him overperforming some expected numbers even if he's not shooting enough
The person quoted in the article making that point is the guy who runs Evolving Hockey so I'd say his argument is basically entirely based around analytics as I doubt he's watched more than a handful of Rangers games because he covers the whole league. I do think Panarin has had an uneven season so far with the injury and covid and stuff he hasn't gotten into a true rhythm, but to say he's 'declined drastically' is just too ridiculous for me. He's at over a 100pt pace even with his inconsistent season so far. Like what are they even doing wasting a single sentence about him in that article? It's a joke.

Much like Schneider, I don’t think he’ll take that long. He def needs more time, but my best guess is he’ll prob get an opportunity as an injury call up, and like Schneider he’ll play too good to send him down.
My best guess is he’s about a year and a half out from being a viable candidate for long term duty

Good problem to have. I think 5 long term spots are locked up on D which is wild. Dont think Drury can make a wrong move in terms of who he decides to trade of the Nils/Jones/Robertson group
