And apparently being happy about a historic regular season win is showing inferiority complex. I'd say showing inferiority complex is sarcastically asking what kind of success the Clippers have had against the Lakers. You Laker fans are spoiled mother****ers who have no idea what it's like to be the little brother finally being able to beat the big brother. So I guess you guys can go ahead and call it inferiority complex. I'll just say that you are insecure about your history and status in the city. And more importantly, took420 is lying about rooting for the Clippers.

Oh yeah, stop acting like the league denied the lakers CP3 in order to give him to the Clippers instead. The Clippers had nothing to do with the nixed trade, When CP3 was available again, the Clippers just took advantage of the opportunity and it actually took two tries before the trade was completed. Any other team with the right pieces could've had CP3.

That's not the point. The blowout is in the history books and it was straight up embarrassing for the Laker organization and the fans no matter how you look at it.

It really isn't embarrassing at all considering the context. Do you understand that when Clipper fans celebrate beating a Laker team with 1 starter and 9 total players it makes them look silly? The Lakers are purposely losing. ;)

I don't know, man. It was really embarrassing even if you don't want to admit it. ESPN 710 last Friday was pure entertainment if you were a Laker fan hater.

I had to fly up to Seattle tonight for some meetings tomorrow. You can smell the dead Orca all the way down here.

I don't see how Gillis can keep his job, and what are they going to do with the Sedins? It shouldn't even be a question regarding Tortarella being fired. That should happen tomorrow.

It's not like the NYI had Tavares, etc. in the lineup tonight.

Oops wrong thread. Change Sedins to Kobe, etc.

Whenever I think of the Clippers I think of that scene in the Seinfeld episode "The Package" when Jerry and Kramer are talking about write offs and how they work

Happy for loyal Clipper fans though. As King fans we can all relate to mediocrity. Unfortunately...

It reminds me a lot of when the Ducks first came to town and then when they enjoyed some success, really. Suddenly, Ducks fans everywhere. It seems the same with the Clippers--younger generation has really piled on to the Clipper bandwagon and those are the guys that annoy me.

I know around here we have had Clippers fans forever so props to you guys for sticking around through some awfully-run teams. I'm less mad about you and more annoyed that some punk kid who doesn't even know who Magic is likes to smash on the Lakers right now :P

You're right in a way--as Lakers fans we've been spoiled for a loooong time--but it's SUPER annoying to be declared a bandwagon fan when things are going well and just completely crapped on when they're not.

To be honest, I'm happy for the Clippers and the older fans--I've seen it for a long time as a Dodgers/Angels thing where sure, geography is there, but the teams aren't a huge threat to one another so the fans should coexist just fine. I have a buddy who has every clippers jersey since god knows when and he's in 7th heaven right now and I couldn't be happier for him--but then again, he's not jumping up and down with a foam finger in my face :P

Not hearing too much from you since calling me out for being too optimistic about the Kings.

Just sayin'.

On another note, hope to see your boy on Friday as I make my annual trek to Indian Wells.

They're insufferable. I know a few loyal Clipper fans (shocking, I know) that are real happy right now, but the bandwagon ones are awful. Literally people I've seen wearing Heat and Lakers gear. It's one thing to be a fan of basketball, I absolutely understand that. I know a couple people that simply love the game and collect jerseys, but to say you are a Heat loyalist one season and then say you're all in for the Clippers the next is laughable. I hate lumping them all together though.

I was called a bandwagoner by a couple people when the Kings won the Cup so I know how annoying that can be.

I just share my opinion on the current state of the team. Of course, I'm not complaining for now.

Rafa got bounced last night so you won't see him anymore in Indian Wells until next year.

Bandwagoners shouldn't annoy you. Winning attracts casual fans. That's why the Lakers have such a massive fan base. But of course, you don't have anything against people who got into the Lakers because of their winning history. You didn't complain about bandwagon Kings fans, did you?

I wanna see the Dodgers win the World Series while I'm old enough to appreciate it.

I didn't get to appreciate the Gibson home run. Was too young(born in 84).

A lot of posters shared their opinion on the "state of the team." This thread is golden.

Some idiot kid Sharks fan with a few of his friends was making himself heard while walking through the Staples concourse and had the misfortune of talking his **** while I was walking by. He was literally stating loudly that all Kings fans were bandwaggoners. I told him I've been a bandwaggoner since 1967 and asked him what the **** he was doing at Staples Center which is full of Kings fans if he doesn't want to be around Kings fans.

The stupid kid didn't have enough balls even with his friends to come up to an old man and take him on. So much for Sharks' balls.

Of course it does. And if they end up long-term fans, I'm all for a good ribbing. I'm talking more colloquially about the folks who are wearing Clippers gear right now until they get bounced, the same ones who were wearing Heat gear the last couple of years, and so on.

I'm not really that invested in this deal because I'm not a huge NBA fan anyway. I think the Clippers smashing the Lakers was a colossal "we're here" party and great for the franchise.

How do you know those are the same people, though? Maybe you're reaching here.

Remember Phil Jackson? He's gonna run the Bad Apple!! New York Knicks anytime soon.

And speaking of the Knicks, I'll need to attend this game, just to boo the Knicks.

I'm speaking of specific people I know, so it's not a reach. It's anecdotal evidence for sure based on my singular observations, but they're certainly not the only ones. Just as there are plenty of over-the-top bandwagon Laker fans.

I'm not saying they're the majority or that anyone in this thread is one of the above at all.

The problem with bandwagon fans is they're the loudest and least reasonable. Their perspective toward sports is crap. Every loss is the end of the world.

Yet, they rarely know of more than 2 players on their "favorite" team, no matter the sport.

If a new fan is eager to learn a sport, great. But please don't act like every game is life or death, when you don't even understand the game.

Although I can't see Phil making the move and committing to the position if he wasn't given full autonomy. But you are right about Dolan.

He wants to prove he can be a multi-faceted basketball mind. I don't get it, the guy has won eleven championships. He's already the greatest NBA coach of all time.

Exactly this.

Exactly.

The last game I attended (March 3 I believe) some young woman behind kept saying "Really?" every time a King got a penalty. Finally I just turned around and told her, "Yes, really."
