We know Dubas is the most coveted GM in the league and can walk into any job he wants after this season.

If Keefe is let go, how long will he find himself out of work?
He isn't as coveted as u think .12 teams had 100 points this year
He has almost unlimited resources too

I have no faith in Keefe, Dubas, Shanny and the entire dam core of overpaid losers
This team had no reason not to know their assignments in game 1 in their sleep
This was 4 months of knowing your opponent and not being ready
Just not acceptable in any business
No wonder Tannenbaum is passed

All the line crap for the last 6 weeks of the season.

Knowing who you would play.

And he's scrambling like a chicken with it's head cut off in the first period of the Stanley Cup.

We barely take any penalties all year, and game 1 of the playoffs we are a bunch of thugs ?

Poorly assembled team. Poor execution. Just collecting cheques.

Yup. Zero excuse for that travesty last night

I need help here. I can’t tell if the first sentence is sarcasm or serious.

Keefe is the Latest scapegoat to blame everything on.

Easier to change the coach than to change the players.

It was Keefe's job to have the team ready.

They weren't. His Holl love affair, inability to control Bunting, players taking stupid penalties.

His job is on the line 100%. Dubas and Keefe go after Shanny gets the pink slip to start the process.

I guess you pretend all is well if you want to sign Matthews. And then if Matthews signs, you clear house after that.

No coach could have fixed problem of last night .. if Tampa plays at that speed and intensity we are done even if Scotty was behind da bench .. they were all over da puck and there was no room for our guys to make any possession occur .. but I highly doubt Tampa can play at that pace
Scotty would not have started Holl
I soon as holl was on the ice I knew there would be a goal.
With this lineup Bowman wouldn't have been worried about TB was doing.

Keefe set the table in the 1st period.

We may not see it but if we bounced again in the first rd

Would love to see what a really good coach could do with this roster

Keefe is one of those rare coaches that seems to get rattled by the moment. Maybe gets too amped up for these big games.

It's usually the players who do this but his coaching becomes all over the place in the playoffs.

Nylander's 5v5 stats are godly and this clown keeps treating him like he's not top 3 on the team
Godly isn't even an exaggeration. Nobody else on the team even comes close. xGF% would probably be in the 80's if Tavares and O'Reilly showed up

Luke Schenn somehow ran away with that one
Playoffs is a new league. Luke Schenn might actually be made for it based on the recent years and game 1.

I wish it was him who hit eyemoreson or whatever his name is. He would have demolished the Tampa player that came looking for revenge and got us a powerplay on top of that.

Keefe will probably swap him out for that scrub from Washington.

Let's play a short game.

Name the coaches in this year's playoffs that you think Sheldon Keefe is capable of outcoaching. Not only in a game, but in an entire playoff series.

There's your answer to this thread.

Leafs have to go through the East to make the finals.

In a series, is he outcoaching Cooper? Brind'Amour? Gallant? Montgomery? Not a chance.

And this is why being a fan of this team is so goddamn hard sometimes. We're in a Stanley Cup drought that's approaching six decades and we haven't won a playoff series in twenty years. Yet we let people run this team that have no business running anything let a lone an original six team with astronomical amounts of pressure to succeed based on the aforementioned droughts. It's absolutely insane that Kyle Dubas and Sheldon Keefe are in charge of our Toronto Maple Leafs at this point.

Being given a chance to learn on the job here was already questionable. But after the results of the past few seasons, playoff losses, embarrassing record setting losses, record bad stretches of special teams, never before seen salary cap structures, etc. it's approaching absolute insanity. I feel like I need to take crazy pills to follow this team sometimes.

Holl on for 6 goals against in Game 1 and he's going to be rolled right back out for Game 2 while an arguably better defenseman sits? Sickening.

Line matching on home ice when we've got a healthy, stacked lineup of forwards? Sickening.

Keefe is an absolute joke. Dubas is the GM. He should manage the entire team. Coaching staff included.

I can tell you that if I was in his position and put it all on the line the way he did at the deadline, I'd be calling the shots on who plays and who sits. Friendships, micromanaging, etc. be damned. We need results. If he isn't seeing the mistake that Keefe is making then he's not competent enough to be a GM. Simple as that.

To me it all started with not having Matthews on the ice until after it's 1-0.

Matthews played less 5v5 time then Accari and Schenn.

Stop being cute. Play your best players.

Stop trying to get Matthews and Marner away from the Kucherov line.

Since almost everyone would argue Marner and Matthews are begter in their own end than Tavares and Nylander use them like it.
