As a new poster here one thing I need to call you guys out on is that this poll has a 85% share that didn't say yes yet there's a massive insecurity towards anything Dubas to the point a phantom "Dubasite" gang is made up to insert into arguments.

We came into the season with top 5 odds to win the cup, so common sense says there will be a lot of times good things need to be said to demonstrate how good things can occur, or what changes are needed to ensure something good happens. If you don't care about solutions to right the ship for this season why do you even waste your days here? Get a hobby and come back in the off-season.

Maybe drop the insecurity and work on constructing good arguments. This place is lacking in those. It's ironic since the traits people hate to see in players, those are the same traits they post with.

I'm one of only few new guys posting everyday. That's sad. A good place to be has a regular influx. I've been lurking everyday for years before posting, so I know for a fact you guys lost more good posters than you've gained in a long time. There are some names I loved reading that haven't popped up in a long time replaced with a bunch of people who just sound like grumpy old men.

I've been insulted a lot in the last two weeks so just calling it like I see it after looking at this poll results. Don't dish it if you can't take it. Just take it in. 85% didn't say yes yet the posts here speak as if 85% did say yes. You can learn how to construct arguments in 8 minutes off youtube. Take a day off tomorrow from the board and do that instead.

Now I need a break from this place before I go insane. Good riddance.

Here is a pic there are many more. They are up high so glasses would be required. This was before he started to wear glasses. Non prescription

He wears the glasses so he can try to find the fancy stats we hear all about.

That Malgin-Marchment trade is turning out to be flipping disaster. For Florida Marchment has been everything Ritchie is supposed to be at 1/3 the cost. Marchment's skating was supposed to be the reason we cut bait on the player then we signed a player who skates no better.

Really? Pretty sure people felt Sundin didn't care, and the muskoka 5.

There were long stretches in Sundin's earliest seasons then 98 through 2003 that Sundin's teams cared a lot about winning. After JFJ and his attempts to keep the contention afloat with extending slipping talent (McCabe, Tucker) and signing declining UFAs (Kubina, Blake, Lindros, Allison, Peca), those Sundin teams were shall I say "selectively" competitive.

k….. now do Campbell for legit bums/scraps. Oh but that don’t fit the complaining narrative.

Muzzin for bums

I can go on

Trevor Moore would really help Toronto right about now, so I’m not sure I’d call him a bumb. Campbell is looking more like a mediocre starter than a good one… but a starter all the same. Not the robbery you seem to think. It was, however, a good trade. Let’s see if Dubas can sign him to a reasonable contract.

Muzzin cost quite a bit, though it was worth it. That extension is looking like a huge mistake.

You win some you lose some. A lot of his trades haven’t hurt too bad. We still have to see how the Folingo trade breaks down.

His trades have generally been good from a talent perspective. He usually gets the better players or the better value in deals. As I hope he’s learning, there is more to this than simply identifying market inefficiencies. Some things are overpriced for a reason.

The contracts have been an issue, as has his ability to understand the basics of team-building. The culture he has built, intentionally or otherwise, has also been an issue.

This part is my issue with Dubas and what has hurt the team.

I've become incredibly annoyed with how slow this team is. Usually teams with this deficiency make up for it in terms of physical play, but we're also one of the softer teams in the league.

This is going to be exposed so badly come playoff time.

Carolina and Pittsburgh skated circles around us, and last place Chicago had a clear advantage over us last night too. How did Dubas let this happen. Tampa, Florida, and even the weakened version of the Bruins are going to utterly decimate us.

The players/picks moved for Muzzin are not bums. The draft pick became a starting NHL defender at 19. Durzi is a pretty decent RH defense prospect and Grundstrom is in the NHL too.

There doesn’t seem to be any kind of real plan. Moves that in a vacuum look good, but don’t seem to work as part of the whole.

I still keep thinking back to that scene on all or nothing when Dubas had that little chat with Marner before game 7. Who knows if it was played up for the cameras or whatever, but that really did say everything about Dubas and how he handles players. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body - he's just not cut out for this business.

Nothing about the Prime series screamed we are not winning more than the management and player interactions. The fact that they are so worried about possibly upsetting a guy by telling them the cold hard truth made me realize we ain't winning shit with these guys as leaders. The players themselves don't really have a true leader (someone who is a go-to when things go badly)...Spezza is pretty good but he only plays 10min and is a disaster defensively.

The "I don't want to damage the psyche of X-player by being tough" is going to kill us. We don't have players that have pride enough that getting embarrassed really affects them. We had Keefe lauding the fact that we didn't get smoked by the Canes as a positive thing. This is going to end up with Duby, Shanny and Keefe walking the plank.

He’s built a team with zero identity. Who are we? I haven’t the slightest. We’re easy to play against seems to be conventional wisdom, so there’s that.

And what is the team culture?

The best way to describe the Leafs identity is that they all play like they were just traded to the team 3 days ago and are getting used to each other. I don't know if its a system thing or what...but having players ring the puck around to nobody (and do it consistently every single game) is mind blowing. How many guys are making that extra move at the blueline and cause an offside call? They all play like individuals and either Dubas never takes into account the way they played before when acquiring them or Keefe is a total moron. There is no culture here besides getting paid and excuses.

This team looks slow. No way they make the playoffs this year. Too many better teams ahead of them.

That's the one thing that's really standing out to me too. Sure, Matthews and Nylander and Marner are tooling around like they always have but the support players brought in don't have remarkable speed. I think the team has gone from being deadly fast to trending towards league average. Kampf, Kase, Ritchie, Bunting are considerably slower than Hyman, Kapanen, Johnsson. Mikheyev will bring back some speed when he returns.
