We'll make the playoffs but get bounced in the 1st round. Anyone making direct comparisons to last year's team shouldn't fool themselves.

We are not a club that is remotely close to the top team in the East.

Wondering the samething, keep winning and 6th is realistic

We won, in regulation, Canes lost in regulation, Sabres lost in regulation, WSH and NYI didn't go to OT, MTL lost to PIT, most important, CAR lost in regulation.

We would be 1-1.5% higher if the leafs lost to the Panthers.

Just looked at thier schedule. Last six games look very winnable, if it comes to that. Even two with the Devils, both at MSG, home and home with the Panthers.

So with tonight's win, I think they're in fairly good shape. Especially because I think the worst is behind them, and the Devils aren't that good.

Also, looking at the standing, I think Florida, Buffalo, Tampa, Carolina and Philly are dead. I think only two of the teams currently in the top ten won't make it.

Agree, here never any easy games in NHL but I think Rangers will go 12-4 or 11-5 the last 16 games. Maybe even better. Last night must have given several players selfconfidence. I also look forward to the 2 Pittsburg-games, I think they can even make som trouble for them. This team is too good to not making the playoffs.

I don't put much stock in evolving percentages. You're not much of a odds-making guru if you're going to adjust your predictions after every game. Id still say the Ranger's odds are ≈40%. Torts can't inspire and his Herb Brooks approach doesn't work any longer with this now veteran team.

In my mind, I've drawn this entire season to the final 18 games. I truly believe we have a chance to beat the Penguins in a 7 game series once Torts and the lines settle down. Having that said, the final 18 games started 1-0-1 so I'm just... taking it a game at a time.If we end up +2 in the final 18, we should be in.

Thats the problem, he'll never relax with the line blending. Since he first came to NY it's been the same nonsense.

I haven't seen anything from the team this year (or even last year, for that matter) that would support this. They just don't match up well against the Pens.

what we're capable of becoming with that Nash line now intact in Torts' mind + getting Gaborik and Richards to 70% power and Fasth and MZA adding secondary scoring and offense + a .930 form Henrik... McD has been getting better, MDZ has been great... we're putting it together slowly...

The sky was falling two days ago. They could barely score a goal against Florida. Beat Philadelphia and now this team is capable of beating the Pens in a playoff series? I'm sorry, but that's a stretch. I'll wait to see how the team finishes out the remainder of the season to make further judgment.

That's what I'm waiting for. The team is capable. it's just on Torts to put out the right lines.

The matter of fact is that Nash Step and Hags is no fluke. Torts took that away and we lost bad. The team that we were a week ago is different from the one that we are IF the Step line stays together. If Richards and Gaborik finally gets on the score sheet (they've been playing significantly better), we will be a different team. With Staal back, we will be a different team. If Torts can use MZA and Fasth properly, we can be a strong team. I've never criticized our potential and ability, only Torts and his line ups and blind confidence in certain players. He's taken the first step putting together our best line of the season, our second/third line has so much potential with Cally, Richards, Gaborik, Miller, Kreider, MZA, Fasth.

lol.

There is no way in hell they beat Pittsburgh. I'd be happy with one win stolen by Hank.

Fasth isn't going to get more than a cup of coffee this season.

That's the rosy outlook. It's what everybody has been waiting for. Unfortunately, I'm looking at a Rangers team that's 28th in the league in scoring. Pittsburgh has been on a different level all season long. If everything goes right, then we all know the potential this team has. However, that's rarely the case. We'll see. I hope you're right.

I like to be the underdog. I enjoy this underdog optimist mentality. Call me a product of 08-12 rangers

if the rangers wind up having to face pittsburgh in the first round then god help them. as if they didnt struggle enough against the pens. now they have iginla on their team.
