Meh, Stanley Cup winners lose to bad teams every year.

That's permissible when you're coasting in first place with a playoff spot almost guaranteed. Not when the team is fighting for every last point. It's been a big problem with the team this year--the lack of that 'killer instinct'. There's no urgency whatsoever.

Its Florida and Washington at home. Then its at Philly,Ottawa and MTL. The Rangers were lucky to get a point on the last Ottawa and MTL road trip. Nash didn't play in those games. Closes out the month of March.

I want all 6 points from FLA, WSH and PHI. Ottawa and the Habs......well, I ain't holding my breath. Based on our history against them, I'd take 1 point as a good thing.

Absolute ****ing joke losing to this garbage team and only scoring one ****ing goal. If you're looking to go deep let alone make the playoffs you have to win these games. No ****ing excuses

I can't believe it's gotten this bad. I'm close to just writing this season off as an aberration due to the lockout/no training camp/etc. (although every other team could use the same excuse) and hoping for better luck in 2013-14.

The true test of this team will be what they can do in those three games. I have optimism for pulling out a win in Philly; Ottawa and MTL are a different story.

The recurring theme this year is "maybe this will wake the team up". None of the handful of UGLY losses have. If this team can't top Philly and Ottawa and at the very least show some fight in Montreal, they are DONE.

I have hope that they will still make the playoffs. They WILL lose in the first round if they do. Last year was a nice breath of fresh air, but looks like we will be back to our good ol' first round exits.

Since we fail to take care of our own business we have to worry about other bubble teams getting points and overtime loss points like the devils do (7 of them).

What happened to that swami dude who predicted we'd win 5-2 over the Devils. Someone bring him back for his positivity. At least he predicted the outcome of the game.

Now I know Rangers have their injuries too but factor in the following

-My Leafs are, well... the Leafs. Giant crapshoot so best not to bet on how they will do.

-Canes goalies keep getting nailed with injuries (No doubt either one of you guys or a crazy jets fan has been in the standings during canes games pulling off a legolas and pegging off their goalies)

- Jets are due to go on one off their monthly losing streaks

- New Jersey is also another wildcard. One minute they are trap perfectionists, the next they are crap.

It all comes down to Jets and Canes. Do they consistently keep racking in points? Or do one of them take a nose dive?

Best to take this ranger team one game at a time. They're like a wet fuse that dies out immediately once you think it's lit.

Absolutely need this game tonight.

The Rangers need to get some kind of of game going on the road. And for christs sake, score the first goal.

I think rangers will make PO, although I prefer they wont. This way Torts may get fired. Ideally, they make it, got swept by PIT and Torts gets a boot.

It may come down to the last day, against the Devils.

I have tickets for that game. Wouldnt that be wonderful to watch the Rangers season go down the tubes in person, at the hands of the Devils, for the second season in a row.

I've suddenly turned extremely pessimistic today.

Dammit.

Personally I think it's going to come down to the last game or two and they're going to blow it because this team has been something of a tease but what it all breaks down to is they've shown a strong tendency to disappoint. That's their M.O.

I wouldn't worry about the percentages at this point. They will go up/down substantially from game to game given how tight the race is.

The projected playoff cutoff looks to be around 52-55 pts. A 10-7 record the rest of the way should be enough to do it. Certainly doable but not with the way they have been playing. Dropping 3 out of 4 pts at home to FLA/WSH hurt bad.

What if they make it, get knocked out by Pitt and Torts stays? ;)
