Our top end talent is simply too strong to miss the playoffs. We're eerily resembling the Kings from last season. Both struggling at the season's midpoint, hovering around last in the league in GF.
Hopefully we make it, preferably as a 6 seed, and do some damage.
Brad Richards is finished . Gaborik is invisible , Hags is good but only as good as Those around him . Nash has been inconsistent as well . There is no Drew Doughty to mug the puck and take over games from the back end and on the PP on this team . MCD / Staal and G are great shy down guys but they can't take a game over offensively like Doughty

Even if they make it it'll be as a bottom seed, and they've been awful on the road this year. One and done if they make it, especially if they face Pittsburgh or Boston

I think Lundqvist wills us in during the final weeks of the season.

I think we will be a bubble team, and if we're lucky, face Boston in the first round. Out of the East juggernauts, they're the only team we'd have a chance to beat. Pittsburgh would sweep us.

My Prediction: If, and that's a big if in my opinion, we'll be the 8th seed and most likely lose to the Pens in 5 games.

I'll go with NO...

-Richards & Gaborik playing like crap and that doesn't appear to change anytime soon
-Staal being out of the line-up
-PP stinks and team can't score goals
-poor forward depth

Even if we did manage to make it I don't see us standing a chance against the Pens or Bruins in the first round....

If we miss the playoffs and Philly does too it will be slightly more tolerable as a fan. :)

Everyone, we must believe. Everyone believed in Peter Pan and that annoying fairy thing came back to life.

Lol at the Penguin and Isle fans voting. Get out of here!

I don't think we'd do anything in the playoffs this year but I hope we make it just so I don't have the small chance of watching us finish 14th in the standings and somehow win the lottery.

No. And even if we do it won't be anything pretty, so I don't really care.

Get some growing pains out of the way, gel more, make some changes, and bring on next year.

Sucks not having a 1st though.

No 1st round pick. of course the NHL says all 14 who miss this year get a shot at #1 overall for the first time ever.

This team got a 28 year old superstar Rick Nash from this first round pick and other players. Really can't complain about losing this pick.

I expect that for us it's going to come down to the last game or two.

The Rangers are not nearly as tough as they were last year. Last year's team had 65 fights in 82 games. This year's team has 12 fights in 27 games. This year's team does not hit or forecheck as much. The Asham injury--Bickel's lack of improvement have not helped. The Rangers are softer and it's hurting us.

I say yes, but they need to make some moves at the deadline.

Acquiring a solid third liner is imperative. You add one to Pyatt and Miller, you may finally see the third line chipping in.

These next 5 games will decide whether we will be in playoff contention or out of it IMO.

vs Hurricanes
@ Devils
vs Panthers
vs Caps
@ Flyers

need at least 7 points!
