now it's the fight for 7th. What's 8th but a death sentence other than for the Rangers?

I'm feeling safer at 6th. I don't see the 8th seed giving das boot to the Penguins - unless the Flyers wake up - so that buzzsaw would await us in the 2nd round. The 7th seed knocking out the 2nd seed?

Oh, who the **** are we kidding? The next two games against the Penguins, just have every enforcer and scrub player wear a Rangers jersey who can do some "damage." I know this dude Vinnie down by the docks, he broke his hand so many times as a kid that his knuckles are thicker than brass knucks. He'd be a great addition.

Either we are the best team or we aren't. Our seed doesn't magically make us better or worse once the PO start. It's just a good indicator of whether we will be good enough. Either way if we end up in 5th only because the teams ahead of us lost 75% of their remaining games it doesn't mean much. Anyway with the talent on this team if it comes together we could beat anyone. Same as last year.

New York Rangers Playoff Chances
Lost to Montreal 0-3, playoff odds down 12.3 to 42.4%
35 points 16 15-3

Season's done.

To me this was always a BS strike half season that was ruined before it started.

We have to go 10-4 in April just to reach 55 points... Though other than Pitts, the schedule is not horrible at all.

The fact that the Rangers are still in the hunt given how they're played this season is shocking to me, especially in light of the fact that there have been so many 3 point games involving teams they are directly fighting with. This season seems a little different than recent seasons in that there is parity amongst most of the teams, but there definitely seem to be a few teams that are a very clear cut above the rest and it would be shocking to see them upset in the early rounds.

I have very little confidence in this team making the playoffs because they haven't shown the urgency or the higher gear they need to in these key games when we think we might see just that, but they are surrounded by mediocrity as well so they very well might sneak in. They will be disposed of pretty easily in the 1st round though, unless they somehow sneak into 6th.

Just hope for the sixth seed.

That would put us against the Jets or the Capitals. Definitely better chance to win that series than vs Habs or Bruins but we're 5 points out of 6th competing with 4 other teams and 12 to play. Rangers would need to go on some kind of tear to lock that up

We've got a home and home against the leafs coming up

There's no way Winnipeg will make it, their place in the standings is about to evaporate.

Winnipeg has a -22 goal differential. In both the East and West, there is only one other team w/ a negative goal differential, and that's the Devils with a -11.

Washington will take the 3rd. Too bad for TBs goalie/defense issues as they are a +6 and still 2nd to last in the conference.

I don't want to see Washington in the Playoffs again just out of repetitive nature.

Oh, you know we're playing Washington in the playoffs this year. We just can't get away from them. What's it been, the last 4-5 years we've played them?

Amen to that.
