This is what I'm thinking

(1) Penguins
(2) Canadiens
(3) Capitals
(4) Bruins
(5) Senators
(6) Rangers
(7) Maple Leafs
(8) Islanders

1 Pens over 8 Isles
7 Leafs over 2 Canadiens
6 Rangers over 3 Capitals
4 Bruins over 5 Senators

So we gets the Pens/Leafs and Rangers/Bruins

what happens from there? :sarcasm:

Yes.

We're making a push and this will be our best stretch of the season with the newcomers Clowe, Brassard and Moore.

I don't even know why anyone is bothering watching these games. The season's going to come down to Game 48 April 27th vs the Devils at home.

This could have gone either way. There is now enough basis to believe we may get in. But this team still needs a lot of improvement in a better system with more quality assets. We're paying for their ELC, better to bring up Kreider and Miller, let them learn, playoffs or no, instead of going with Pyatt and Asham.

Odd fourth line we'd have there, as neither one hits and both are prone to defensive lapses.

Momentum seems to be on our side and we are healthy compared to the other teams in our way.

This conference is ripe for the taking. We have a goalie that could be lights out.

Let's win 2 out of the next 3 before we start talking about momentum being on our side. Not trying to be a downer, but at this point I need to see a little something before I'm going to go all in on this team. I definitely think we can do it...but I'm not ready to be penciling us in for the 6 seed just yet when the odds are greater we end up in 9th.

Believe me, I don't think this team is alot better with the trades, but anything was better than what we had. And all the other teams looking at the playoffs look like duds to me. Those teams don't have Henrik ;)

we play florida, philly, and the canes. i like those games as wins. go .500 against the other team and we should be comfortably in.

I seriously think we can go 9 and 3 the rest of the way if we play smart hockey and do not take stupid PM's and keep the forecheck going . I think Kreider could also help us in these last few games...:yo:

"Hits" -- wouldn't say those 2 are soft. Gilroy can't hit to save his life. Kreider and Miller are not Gilroy. They could learn to execute better, including both giving and absorbing hits. I would rather have the offensive and other talent upside of those two, including speed, and take my chances as they learn.
"defensive lapses" -- Right now Kreider probably thinks about the throwaway pass he made in last years playoffs, and Miller is probably conscious about giveaways. The extra second they analyze what they are doing before actually doing it = unproductive delay. We need to replace Torts with someone who will not let them slide, but won't look for an excuse to tear them a new one at every single opportunity. These are not stupid guys. Work constructively with them, review with video, accelerate their development. Not yell and berate.

Philly in 8th or 7th could be a blessing for us. They not only give Pittsburgh fits but Montreal too.

Would love to see us grab 6 or 7th while the fishies grab 8th (eventhough I don't know why I root for them to get in considering all their fans hate us). Obviously, the ideal situation would be a fun fun Penguins-Flyers opening round matchup :handclap: They could kick the **** out of each other.
