You need more Doomcock in your life.

We all do, so I bring this latest rumor from him:

Star Wars: George Lucas Involved With New Trilogy (Rumor)
"My new source - and you should absolutely take this with a lot of salt - told me, 'Okay. More good news. The Big G, George Lucas(!), was just here with Jon [Favreau] and David [Filoni] and meeting with the Killer B's [Bob Iger and Bob Chapek]," explains Doomcock. "The Big G wants more input in Star Wars going forward and is in talks to put a financial stake back into Lucasfilm Ltd. If this happens, we could be looking at a new trilogy bankrolled by the big man himself.'"

It's very unconfirmed, but it does make a lot of sense. It's widely speculated that Lucas is interested in getting involved in Star Wars again--in fact, his writing credit on an episode of the upcoming Andor series seems to confirm it--and Disney likely isn't going to refuse if he offers to bankroll a whole trilogy for them, which he could easily do with the $4B that he got from them in the first place. It seems like it'd be a good way for him to be involved and have creative control again, even though he doesn't own Star Wars any more.

I would be surprised to see George Lucas be a major part of a Star Wars vehicle again, for two reasons:

1. He seemed pretty much done with the franchise, which is why he sold it in the first place. Perhaps he misses it, since it was the film that vaulted his career and one of his biggest passion projects. But still, I haven't seen anything indicating he wants to get back into it.
2. I don't expect Disney to give up enough creative control to where Lucas will be willing to come back.

Would be cool to have him back, though.

I don't see it happening, but I would be intrigued by a movie (maybe even a trilogy) with the old master and his former apprentice working together again in Lucas and Filoni.

Meh, Star Wars can only move forward in television, IMO.

An occasional movie is fine, but I don't think trilogies are really needed.

Was this supposed to embarrass me? Seriously, why are you flipping out like a crazy person? It's not even about something that's controversial or hotly debated. If anything, it's a rumor that most of us might be able to agree is a good one. Do you mind if we discuss it or do you have to act like gatekeeper of which rumors are permissible? We get it... you have a low opinion of those sources that you named. You've made that clear too often to count. You don't need to loudly remind us for the umpteenth time every time that they come up. Is it really so hard to just act normal and discuss the rumor (or keep quiet), even if you distrust the source?

Its literally the equivalent of making a main board thread about an Eklund rumor.

Yes, I do. Especially when people believe them and start creating a narrative about it that they keep bringing up over and over again, like people saying Kathleen Kennedy is on her way out or taking an extended vacation when absolutely nor reliable source has brought up such things. You're creating a narrative out of fake rumors.

Yes, and those are allowed here and people are warned to not complain about the source by the moderators, which you are not one of.

I simply posted a rumor. If, in the future, I reference that rumor as though it's a fact, then you can call me out on creating a narrative out of it. Until then, you're overreacting and being annoying.

No, you're annoying. Times ten!

Lucasfilm Reportedly Wants Mark Hamill Back For New Star Wars Holiday Special
WeGotThisCovered.com said:
So far, nothing has been confirmed, but insider Daniel Richtman now reports that Lucasfilm want the 69 year-old for a new Holiday Special. Favreau admitted a while back that he’d love to take another shot at the televised variety show that George Lucas views as the nadir of his beloved sci-fi franchise, while Hamill hasn’t been above making fun of it repeatedly over the years.

Now you're just trying to derail the thread with garbage rumors.

You're the one derailing the thread by having an outburst every time that someone shares a rumor. It's predictable and the only reason why I shared that last silly one. Do you honestly believe that losing it over every rumor is going to stop anyone from posting them? I'm certainly not going to be intimidated by you and, if anything, will just post more of them, which is what I was communicating. You need to chill and not take things so seriously that you feel the need to facepalm and try to embarrass other posters for not following your rules. Surely, you have better things to do than try to police a message board thread about a space wizard franchise.

He, like several other YouTubers who I won't name because they don't need more clicks, are bullshit artists who con desperate nerds out of their money. They use nostalgia as a tool to hammer home their wild theories that they all seem to have "inside and reputable sources" for.

Oh, and subtle mysogamy. Lots and lots of dog whistling for mysogamists.

Do yourself a favour, get off that train man. You're listening to a f***ing guy named Doomcock spout off about how HE! Has all of the answers to all of your fanboy grievances. That, and all of those guy are redpilling the f*** out of you and you don't even know it. Fun times.

I don't know what you're talking about. I don't listen to him or even know how one goes about it (i.e. whether he has a YouTube channel or what). I occasionally receive articles in my Google feed from websites that summarize or quote a few sentences from him and, if the rumors are interesting, I share them here. That's all. I see no harm in discussing them here, even if there's little or nothing to them. It gives us to chance to talk Star Wars more often and on a somewhat regular basis.

You're better of blocking those feeds.

In case if wasn't clear, I have no problem discussing rumors, if they're from legit sources. But when people base their narratives on rumors from known bullshit sites/channels, then it brings absolutely nothing to the discussion.

That advice seems a bit ironic from someone who regularly watches trashy channels.

That's not the issue here. You didn't flip out because I based a narrative on the rumor. You objected purely over the source of the rumor. You evidently believe that a rumor from a questionable source adds nothing to the discussion, but you're wrong because the rumor that I posted did start a bit of good discussion, while your outburst put an end to it and derailed the thread. As I suggested before, you're overreacting and getting upset at the wrong thing. If you have an issue with people basing their narratives on questionable rumors, then point that out when it happens. Until then, you're the one bringing nothing to the discussion by trying to shut it down because of a spite for certain sources.

Thou shalt not question the all mighty and infallible Kathleen Kennedy. :sarcasm:

Like what?

You tell me. You're the one who rants about them and the misogyny and racism that you claim are on display in them. Either you watch them or you make statements about them without even watching them.

I tried watching one of those videos and after breaking out into laughter over his ridiculous look realized I never needed to watch another one. Just looking through the titles of his videos he seems to have a personal vendetta against Kathleen Kennedy.

I don't watch them NOW but I've made the mistake of watching some of them in the past. Then I blocked them. Youtube still somehow recommends them and the titles and thumbnails are revealing enough already. They are talked about on other messageboards and more reputable channels.
