I have no idea what that means.
Studio Trigger is doing (at least) one of these shorts and the characters look identical to those from a movie they made called Promare.
I have no idea what that means.
“They have Luke disintegrate. They killed Han Solo. They killed Luke Skywalker. And they don’t have Princess Leia anymore. And they’re spitting out movies every year. And they think it’s important to appeal to a woman’s audience, so now their main character is this female, who’s supposed to have Jedi powers, but we don’t know how she got Jedi powers, or who she is. It sucks. The storylines are terrible. Just terrible. Awful. You can quote me — ‘J.J. Abrams, Kathy Kennedy — talk to me,'” Lucas says in the book.
Real hard-hitting, substantive critique. Can't imagine why she hasn't been involved in a significant creative project since the 80s.
I was aware of that, as well as the small projects she did after she publicly retired. She retired from the film industry after RotJ to raise a family. It wasn't because the two-time Oscar-nominated (and one-time winning) film editor couldn't find work.

It was a clumsy attempt at humor, and one I will probably be filing under the "dud" category. It seemed like you were sarcastically suggesting that her critique offered a clue as to why she didn't work again. If those were really two unrelated thoughts, then I misinterpreted you.
What I've seen in reviews is that you should not binge the nine episodes all in a row
I'm kind of planning to do that tonight. Any arguments to why? Honestly asking, not being snarky.
I am not anime guy at all, but I decided to give it a shot.
I loved the Kurosawa aesthetic of the first one. It was not that Star Wars-y, but it worked. It was fun to see a Star Wars story using one of the genre it was largely influenced by.
Second one with the music band is f***ing awful. Lame as f***.
Not sure I am going to finish the series.
I've watched the first two and agree with the assessment. They're all short so I'll finish the series but for the rest of them it will probably become apparent pretty quick which ones are worth watching from a broader perspective and which ones can be passed on.
I think the Disney trilogy is a truly forgettable piece of media, but the prequels are so much worse by almost every possible metric.
What do you believe the good story is? Are you just talking about the whole "Anakin falls to dark side" concept or the actual story that was told through the three movies?I think I still prefer the prequels because there's actually a good story buried in all the CGI, bad dialogue, and subpar acting. The sequels are amazing visually and the dialogue and acting is better, but most of the story is either forgettable or a rehash of the OT.
Let's put it this way. I have pretty much zero desire to rewatch the sequels while I will still go back and watch the prequels (while skipping through some sections of it that I do find unwatchable).

I can't speak for him, but something that I appreciate about the PT is that it feels like an epic tragedy. I don't mean that it's tragic like the ST is tragic, but like a Greek tragedy. The hero slowly becomes the villain and his relationship with every other character changes. Both allow for some pretty dramatic character development, even greater than the OT had. It's a framework that should've made for some great storytelling, and it was even planned out at the start, so it's arguably the most consistent of all of the trilogies. It's just too bad that, even with those things going for it, it fell well short of its potential due to questionable writing and casting. Of all of the trilogies, it's the one that could improve the most by being remade, IMO.
