Post-Game Talk: GAME 57 - Disaster in the Third Period - Vegas 4 BRUINS 3

This team has been good for a very long time. There have been Backes and Beleskey's and stuff but for the most part its been a top 5 team for a decade. Cups aren't there but there has been good hockey to watch more nights than not and while I think they fell short a couple of times that they shouldn't have it could have been a heck of a lot worse. Grateful for that but again, time to move on. and get some fresh insights here to hopefully get them over the top

Bruins and maple leafs tied for 8 straight years making the playoffs. Both teams tied for longest streak yet only 1 combined conference final in that stretch.

Crazy to think about. Odds on that is probably so low.

Yeah this basically - this team needs a fresh new energy from top to bottom and honestly I include pasta - not because he’s not awesome, but because it’s pointless to keep him in a bigger picture level - he accelerates things if you move him

100% this. Time to reload

I understand some may find my position cynical, but honestly I hope they keep losing.

In two recent podcasts, the supposition among hosts and guests was that Sweeney would move a piece or two, Frederic, etc.
Actually engage in rentals before the deadline.

"Crying, Hoping, Wishing."

That's the name of a country song.

That is the absurd, tiresome, loser mentality approach of Don Sweeney and Cam Neely.

I apologize.

I'm so sick of Don Sweeney's foolishness I can't see straight. Sick of his face, sick of his act. Sick to f*cking death.

I believe Mike from Everett had it best,

"Fire Sweeney into the sun."

Again, I understand many will not agree, but I'm glad they lost today. And in typical fashion.

I hope Charlie has decent hearing.

Because he should be hearing an earful.

You trade Pasta and you're accepting a full rebuild and the beginning of a process that will take well over 5 years, and that's IF it works. The alternative is a quicker re-tool but are there realistic odds that it could actually succeed? If the answer to that is 'no' then that's where jumping straight into a rebuild makes sense and saves time that would otherwise most likely be lost to no purpose.

Regardless, for better or worse they won't rebuild yet. Will try and shake things up over the next 6 months and hope that works. Then we see what happens with that and go from there.

Just finished watching, as it was a gorgeous day and I spent the afternoon outside.

The standings will continue to fluctuate daily, but had the B's won and at least on paper been in a wildcard spot over the 4 Nations break, I would've felt better about this team's fragile psyche.

Athletes often say after a bad loss, the best thing is to get right back at it. Unfortunately they'll have to let this loss linger for a while.

And a lot of this is mental - the goals given up after scoring and the late-period goals are absolute back-breakers. Vegas' second goal was brutal, and Swayman was laughing afterward, thinking he had it.

But likewise, that changed everything mentally for both teams, and of course the disastrous third period followed. They just aren't mentally strong enough which is a) why they get themselves into these predicaments, and b) can't get out of them.

I would like to give a stick-tap to the in-house production crew. I'm an 80's music aficionado, and during the Bruins' challenge of a Vegas goal, I was excited to hear a favorite song playing, Cyndi Lauper's Change Of Heart.

Great choice!

We were "Waiting for your change of heart," from the officials. We got that, now we need a change of heart from the team.

I miss debrusk. It is so depressing to think that sweeney could have signed Debrusk for far less than Lindholm and have a line of marchand coyle and debrusk instead of what our second line looks like now.
Dunno..he has 3 goals in his last 20 games..Jake scored some big goals but too many nights he mailed it in..lindholm contract not great, but neither is Jake's imo
