Nobody is being held accountable.

You've got a team full of players signed long term.
You've got a GM who seems terrified to make any moves (literally hasn't made a single move).
You've got a coach who isn't going to be around next year.
There's no chance of making the playoffs.

Under these circumstances, there's no motivating factor. The players don't fear getting traded, their contracts are secure, and the coach won't be around next year.

At least with Dorion, the players feared getting traded if they didn't perform. Just look at how good Joseph was earlier in the season.
To the bolded, that's an interesting conclusion to draw.... not sure how you got there given many equally likely explanations.

Like the simple one of: He hasn't found the right trade partner yet. Or, now hear me out: it's not so straightforward to make the kind of moves he wants to make in-season.

I'll take no moves over bad ones every day of the week.

I think he is laying ground work for the off season too.

He got suspended for half the season for being a degenerate gambler. Good to know you sign off on that
His friend bet on his account. That doesn't make someone a degenerate gambler. Good to know you ride way up there on your high horse judging everyone. Say something positive for once you're so miserable. Pinto is one of the best players on this team and you're forcing a narrative to hate him.

Obviously he went with this take. He's PD's personal cheer leader. Even though it's insanely obvious the entire time how out of his element he was.

Billion dollar asset they took over in pre season and he wants panick moves. He must hate actually winning. Staios is clearly evaluating what he has in this team. The season is over there's no reason to do anything rash.

Secondly you don't run small market teams the way Dorion did. Emotionally driven decisions that were poorly evaluated. Draft develop methodical roster management. Like Winnipeg has that's how you run a small market nhl franchise. Patient and calculated.

Evaluating. Remember when people wanted PD & DJ fired right away but where told..Nope, new owners will take the year to Evaluate. Now taking time to Evaluate is wrong. ETHL for them all say I!

I agree with you he made a mistake payed dearly for it and now it's time to move on, Pinto is the real deal, he has the potential to be our Patrice Bergeron, a two way player that will probably win the Selke one day he's that good.

I have long been a proponent of running this franchise a particular way:

1) Develop drafted talent
2) Identify the core you want to work with
3) Trade anyone outside of core as they price themselves out. Target ELC and cost-controlled talent coming back
4) Rinse and repeat

The Tampa model got them a dynasty by not being emotionally attached to anyone and making shrewd decisions.

Otherwise, I can understand impatience after all this time spent achieving nothing: We went from someone who made reactionary moves for years to no moves at all. It's the hockey fans cabin fever maybe?

Yeah, given all of the things hockey players have been forgiven for before, I agree it's time to move on. Pinto has been great since coming back. Don't think he's part of any culture problem here. There's lots of reasons one might call someone degenerate. I could even find some reasons within this thread. And while I'm not a fan of gambling, personally, I'd only consider someone a degenerate gambler if they ruined the lives of others along with their own.

What kind of accountability would you be wanting to see here and to whom? You cannot fire players or their contracts or I'm sure that would be considered based on performances. You don't just randomly start trading for the sake of it like a video game. Like most others on here I want smart moves made by a savvy GM. How do we even know Staios and Poulin are not that? Basically since Bryan Murray was gone it became so increasingly obviously the org. was being operated like a gong show. Fortunately, the gong show operations is now in the process of being entirely cleaned up but it will still take time for the lingering stench to clear.

Back to players, If there is something worthwhile in return for Tarasenko, Chychrun, or Brannstrom by the deadline you do it. If not, more player moves will be made in the offseason.

Sorry but to your last point I had to simply LOL... Your just simply grasping there with that odd point about Joseph. I'm pretty sure no player ever had fear of being traded by Dorion.

So using your logic we can apply this to you always giving the previous regime a pass then

I called balls and strikes with the past regime. Will do the same with current one… so far SS is still a rookie, looking to get into the game.

For Culture purposes alone

I'm trading Chabot Asap. Almost 500 NHL games in the NHL, not 1 playoffs game

He's been paid

It's indifferent for him to make the playoffs

Not a hungry player

Injury prone

Time to shake up the room

This is what I've been saying all season:

Bringing in Jacques was a failure. We need to move on already and set the stage for next season.

What was the measuring stick used to gauge if JM has been successful or not?

You missed an important step:
1. Draft the Best Player Available; don't reach!

and,

4. Hire a coaching staff that has successful experience at coaching a team to play a "pro style" game.
5. Get an experienced successful Goaltender
6. Get experienced second & third line forwards
7. Ensure you have 6 NHL level defensemen.
