Same, but the problem is they have been animating them during play. It’s so distracting, if they just not changed them or have moving ads, then it’d be totally fine.
*couldn't care less.
Please don't quote reddit here. Leave that trash there.
It certainly would be possible to have the technology apply real time to moving cameras (basically a very narrow and focused application of the same technology Disney uses with their virtual sets using a game engine and VR technology). The ads are generated from an image/video that they take before the game of the building. It is dependent on the camera being fixed in one place, and obviously the boards are fixed in one place as well. The other cameras around the rink don't have the same angle all game so they can't use the technology on those angles. Even the cameras mounted over the glass are not stationary enough to use the tech.
On the rangers broadcast they were animating during play, it was super distracting. Sportsnet was just changing them every 30 seconds for their broadcasts. I saw the odd animation during a stoppage.
I'm pretty sure every team has 1 home game a year where all the ads are lavender.
Yeah, the sportsnet games they weren't animating them during play. but they were changing them. the one rangers game i watched, they were animating the ads during play.
how do you know how much I can or can not care? Don't assume my caring capacity please.
The milk on the leafs players tits was worse.I'd also like to add that seeing that ridiculous RBC patch on the iconic Habs jersey has completely tarnished it. Looked completely gawd awful and amateurish.

Because of the ads on this site I gotta turn down the volume on my phone at work when I’m browsing while taking a dump and all of a sudden a commercial starts blaring in an otherwise quiet washroomWell let’s talk about the ads on this site. Notice how they’ve moved the ads above the page turn option. That way in order to go to the next Page you have to scroll past the ads now.
TSN's broadcast of the Leafs' game tonight is showing the real boards.
Ok so if all ads, even at ice level are digital, that mean the real world one worth very little now. They animate during play, no?
My two cents...
They actually look better, from a purely aesthetic standpoint. With one advertiser having all that real estate and using digital art, it seems they're spreading out their ad, so there's much more negative space and just normal looking boards... which is a big improvement over just side by side crammed in ads. I actually like that a lot, it's easier on the eyes.
My complaint is that when they switch to an alternate camera they show the regular ads, that's obnoxious to me. I'd prefer they use the digital ads on all cameras, so it's at least a cohesive viewing experience.
It's jarring when you see one ad with tons of white space and a certain theme, then they go to an ice level camera during the same play and it's 25 ads that are all completely different. Makes you feel like they cut to a highlight or something. It's kind of nit picky since most people probably won't notice, but something about that just feels gross to me.
Personally, I wish they'd just make all the ads the same color, when they do that for breast cancer awareness (not sure how many rinks do it, but all the ads are lavender) it's so much easier on the eyes.
Verdict, I don't hate them, but they could be better.
