Would most of the issues with digital boards go away if they didn’t change during the play?
*WHEN* they are working they actually look much better than the static ads, and I understand the use case for them and how ads directed at local fan bases are worthwhile and profitable. *WHEN* they are working, the on-screen product looks more cohesive and high end.
My main issues:
1) Fix players/sticks glitching into the ads. This is inexcusable. Parts of the game can't be literally disappearing during intense moments.
2) They shouldn't be animated during play. It's distracting.
4) Sort it out so they are the digital ads on ALL camera angles. I know this is probably technically not even close to being done, but it's very jarring when the camera angle switches to an ice level camera in the corner during the play, and the board ads are completely different from what was just on the screen from the other camera angle. If I'm not watching closely, it makes me think they cut to a highlight.
4) Remove the board ads that are digital LED screens (physical screens in the rink), they create a reflection on the ice that isn't reflecting the ad being shown on the television (mostly comical and nit picky, but it's bad production).
I'm sure there are other annoyances, but those are my main gripes.
