Tough game to watch.

Hate to say it as a big Miller supporter, but he has sucked balls this whole road trip.

Any defensive breakdown, and its in the back of the net. He is playing to deep in the net, and that only works for big goalies. Not sure if this is a coaching issue, but it probably is.

I have no faith in the Canucks coaching staff, and think it needs a complete re-haul. We probably won't see that until the off season though.

The fact that you bring up Ballard like it was a good thing makes it really hard to rationally discuss this.

Did you even read what I wrote? I said they targeted that style of defenseman for a reason. But that other teams don't trade the good ones, so we're stuck with the scraps (IE Ballard being scraps).

If we go hard after someone and give up assets to get them, I want a Theodore or a Krug style defenseman. Not Hamonic. That's going against the grain in a bad way.

No we do not. It took a colossal failure of a roadtrip to drop us to 9th in the west and 16th overall. We will play better, and that will keep us in the middle of the pack. The Pacific division dreadful this season. It's practically a guarantee we'll be a playoff team based on that alone.

Just to get ***** slapped in round 1 yet again? Is it really worth it?

im not sure why everyone is so angry. We had some great years and now we are on a downslope. Things will get better down the road and the canucks will rise again. There is no chance that Benning or Desjardins will be part of this team when it's a contender.

It's called a losing streak. Two weeks ago we were leading our entire division. We're not bad enough for this type of implosion to continue, which is why I don't value our 1st as a lottery pick. As for the playoffs. Have you seen the Pacific? Despite this god awful roadtrip we are still only four points back of LA. I didn't have us necessarily competitive this season, but I also didn't have Anaheim collapsing or the whole Pacific being so bad. We'll make the playoffs on that alone.

LA/ANA both had bad starts. We had a good start. Things will even out. I'd be surprised if we make the playoffs, and really hope we don't. We WILL get steamrolled.

then don't dump on willie. He's leading us to the promise land.

Poor willie might not make to christmas tho.

Call up green and send down willie.... Does he have to clear waivers?

Stop!!!!!!!! Stop!!!!!!! Stop!!!!!!! Stop!!!!!!!!!!! Stop!!!!!!! Stop!!!!!!!! Stop!!!!!!!

THE big club gets to pull up players and decimate a team. That's their right.

They don't have the right to saddle them with one of the dumbest coaches I have ever encountered in over 55 years of following this game. If you want to fire him. By all means fire him.

Let the Comets coach themselves by committee or let Biega act as player coach. He's better than three guys the Canucks have on the roster and Willie and JB don't want him because he's not BIG enough or TOUGH enough, yet he hits more than anyone the Canucks have. Now Sbisa goes down again and Biegs will be brought up to eat popcorn once again.

Just tonight another simple example of coaching prowess with Baertschi and Grenier getting more shots than every member of the team but one and they get a combined total of 4 shifts in the third period. He wouldn't understand a good thing if it bit him in the ***, but boy his same old, same olds are.

I don't think anyone is ok with the latter option.

We're not.

Hence why I don't mind making a push for a young player who can immediately step in and be part of the new core.

I'm against trading for older players and free agents but usually players of Hamonic's caliber do not become available. He's not being moved because he's bad, he requested a trade for personal reasons. We were one of the teams on that list. You absolutely chase that if there's a good chance it will happen.

I have seen nothing from this team that disproved my prediction that they will finish somewhere between 13th and 20th overall.

Miller needs more rest time.

Team effort was ok but needs to be better. Sure Winnipeg is bigger and stronger but we need to play a harder game than we did tonight. Soft on the puck, soft in the corners, soft in front of our own net. The compete level needs to be way higher for this slight Canucks team to find some success in the dirty areas.

I'll hang in with Benning as long as he protects our draft choices and trades away UFA vets for futures.

But if he trades away our first for temporary help or keeps the Hamhuises and Vrbatas past the trade deadline then there should be a hell to pay and open boycott of the team.

Most sane and reasonably intelligent people have been saying rebuild for the last couple of years and it is so clearly needed.

We'll see if Benning has the gonads to do the right thing. If he does he will find the true fans behind him.

Keeping WD around as the caretaker for a rebuilding team isn't the worst move. Changing coaches will change nothing.

Probably not, but that's not what I'm arguing. I think we will, so we may as well continue to make adjustments on the fly. That said, we have a better chance of beating teams in our division. It's that bad.

It's not even a guarantee our discussion will be this bad...teams around us are winning again. Like I said, things like this tend to even themselves out and go back to normal.

Hamonic would be a nice fit especially if he's not soft and small like the rest of our defence. Other than Luca who's physical?

Do the "true fans" have the $$ to put their butts in seats?

No to Hamonic, that will likely cost too high. Our 1st is already a lot to pay, never mind the +

I agree our defence is woefully soft, but the cost of acquiring that player would be very high, although many of the people who are saying we shouldn't trade our 1st for Hamonic called Benninng an idiot for not outbidding Calgary for Hamilton

same old story. miller needs to get rested. glad sbisa was back. nailed ehlers but then got jumped by a bigger peluso. defense was atrotious!. bartman playing 23mins? what? so does benning do something to shuffle the deck? trade a few vets? to send a message or let this movie play for the rest of the season until the deadline then ship them out for firsts and 2nds?
