PK Subban cares more about his personal brand than he does winning hockey games

I’m not a fan of the player but this is BS. Guy loves to win, and is typically better in the playoffs then the reg season. He sucks now but it a playoff series starts tomorrow I want him

I’m not a huge Subban fan but I doubt he suddenly forgot how to play hockey after he arrived in NJ, I think it’s more likely the team is so bad that he’s unable to do much. I don’t see him as a play driver, more like someone who is capable of taking advantage of a good situation. I can see a team wanting him @ 50%

Subban is now a pp specialist who needs to play sheltered minutes 5vs5.
Someone will pay him 3 million next off season

At one time MB thought Subban was worth Draisaitl, Nurse/Klefbom Oilers 1st rd pick 4th ov (Puljujävi) and another prospect

:biglaugh:Bergevin Bergevin Bergevin

Probably could have gotten Draisaitl at the time if he didn't go full moron.

So so happy we dodged that bullet :phew:

Him with Matthews would be the perfect fit. Both guys play for the name on the back of their sweater instead of the Logo on the front.
For sure New Jersey trades him to Montreal @50% for 4th and Montreal does the same for Toronto a recoups their 4th.

Wrong. NJ took Subban off the PP1 and Subban plays the hardest minutes against the opponent top lines. They absolutely do not shelter him. He had a decent bounce back season at almost 0.5ppg.
He was NJ best or at very least 2nd best defenseman last season.
At $9m he is overpaid, no doubt. But at 50%, he is absolutely worth that contract for a top 4 D that provides good leadership.

Haven’t been the biggest PK supporter in NJ but 50% retained he could be of value to a team as a second or third pair guy on a playoff team who gets his minutes on the powerplay. He has to be sheltered but that should be obvious considering he was due to decline from that Norris caliber guy he once was. The days of him trying to be Montreal/Nashville PK are long gone.

One of the most overrated players ever. I never understood why he got so much attention.
Minority player that has/had a big mouth. P.K. when in Montreal was a rock star for the Canadian media. Flamboyant, controversial, but also generous and a great philanthropist.
When he left Montreal, he dropped off the radar, had a small blip when connected to that American skier, then nothing. For his aspiring broadcast career, Tronta be the place. Sportsnet and TSN will be waiting.

IF, again IF, CAR can’t re-sign Hamilton, I’d think there might be interest from then in Subban with retention for Hamilton’s rights. Only $2M in cash for 1 season might be appealing for the Canes.
