If all goes well, we will be 1 point behind the Rags Sunday night.

We win next 3 games and Rags lose in regulation to Columbus and us.

When look at it like that, seems like we can still claw our way in. Screw it, I'm not counting them out until its official. :yo:

Were not clawing our way back in it. There season ended last Friday and they know it. Hence why your seeing the lack of effort over the last 2 games. There officially in play out the string mode and quite frankly, I don't want them to get back in the race. I hope they lose out. That's the only way there's going to be serious housecleaning around here. **** this current group.

Maybe Im just old or something but I never want to see this team lose. Dont give a **** what's at stake for it, draft pick, coach being fired, dont care, just want to see them play hard and do their best to win.

This "hope they lose out" attitude by some fans here is pretty sad.

Im all for them firing Pete btw, just don't want to see this team bend over and hand hand out lube, ever for any reason.

It's a little easier to be detached and root for them to suck if you don't have to go to 7-8 games the rest of the season, including the next two

There's no scenario where I'd want them to lose Saturday. Problem with the schedule down the stretch is if we are out of it those games are going to be such a waste of time cause there is little opportunity to even play spoiler. Eight of our last nine games can be against either teams literally out of it themselves, or in the case of Boston the final game of the season probably locked into seed (though there will be some drama at that game with yet another 'Marty's final start as a Devil' possibility).

I got **** on for saying this team lacks character, but it's the damn truth. The only guys who seem to show they hate losing are Jagr, Schneider, Clowe, and occasionally Marty and Patty. Salvador always says a bunch of ****, but how can he be too critical? He's the WORST player on the team and it AINEC.

The team really showed they cared when they layed down to half the San Antonio Rampage the other night, in a game that they had won. They didn't even show up for the first 2 periods against TB. Looked almost as bad as last years season finale against the Rangers in last nights game. I really don't think that has anything to do with talent. We usually play the Bruins tough over the years, but lose because the Bruins are a better team. You don't have to be too skilled to hold a two goal lead against the San Antonio Rampage or play like you have a pulse in the 1st period. No way in **** that team is better than us, and sure as **** not with their injury depleted roster.

Agreed. I've believed for a while that they were going to be on the outside looking in, but it's really frustrating watching them struggle and it really sucks to keep losing. Even if wins are meaningless at this point, it's still better than watching them lose. You want to feel positive about something so I'm really hoping they can turn this around a little bit

The towel was picked up by me during the Florida game. Then I threw it down to the mat after the TB game. In all actuality, realistically I threw in the towel after losing to Nashville and Colorado by blowing last minute leads. The Yankee Stadium game might have broke their backs.

If you wanna know what I really think broke the teams back, you'd have to go all the way back to Edmonton back on October 7th. That demoralizing 5-4 shootout loss after being up 3-0 with 12 minutes left, really sent the season in the wrong direction. I think if we won that game (like you ALWAYS should when up 3-0 with 12 minutes left) then maybe we win a couple more on that early Canadian road trip. We lost and the team didn't recover from it for WEEKS. That's exactly the kinda loss that can send a season in the wrong direction.

I agree with everything you say except the bolded part. Marty has more than just occasionally cared. Even recently, he looked like literally the only guy who cared or tried to win. He deserves a little more credit. Feel bad for the guy, he clearly wants to win, and even plays like it too, but the team around him is just deflating. Sad way to wind down a fantastic career.

Patty for some odd reason has seemed a little distant and quiet this season, he's always rather quiet, but this season he is especially quiet.

Clowe I'm very pleasantly surprised by, what a Devil! The guy has heart and plays the way I wish some of the other guys did.

0-7 start overall doomed the season.

That's why the Team has to concentrate on getting off to a way better start because apparently, a playoff birth can NOW be lost in the first month of the season with this new ridiculous format/alignment. :help:

This team should just take it one game at a time. And see what happens. Win the game that's in front of you. Don't look forward to Saturday or Sunday.

There was another coach that said make it period to period. The team could get ahead of themselves with a lead in one period, and it could come back to bite them. Win one period at a time(baby steps) and it will help the mentality.

Someone on TG's blog mentioned this. Our esteemed coach is not giving this message. He is actually doing the opposite, publicly stating that the team needs to win two out of every three games or now 10 of the last 13.

Can this guy just get fired already?

Well we all know he's an idiot so we can ignore whatever the hell he has to say. Hope the veterans on this team are smart enough to relay the "one period at a time" message. Lukester's reference is perfect. Need a coach like Lemaire to have a chance. If Lou had a set (or if Lemaire wanted to coach) the move would be made I think. Right now.
