Coming from anyone else I'd laugh that quote out of the room. Maybe Elias I'd take seriously if he said that too. Maybe. But EVEN IF we get our fortieth different chance to make up ground who in their right mind thinks we'll take advantage of it?

Speaking of Patty I hope they don't wheel him out there on Thurs should Columbus lose two in a row. Concussions aren't something to take lightly.

Columbus has done nothing to convince me they are suddenly going to close this out easy this week.

Problem is this team hasn't shown be any reason to believe they will win 3 in a row.

Guess see what happens tomorrow but at least Jagr still believes haha.

I think Columbus is really gonna embarrass themselves when the playoffs come. There's always one team a year that gets into the playoffs, that really doesn't belong. Last year because of the lockout, we had about 3 of those teams in the Eastern Conference alone.

Islanders, Laffs, and arguably the Senators.

Columbus is kinda like the 11-12 Panthers to me. I guess they can make things competitive like the Panthers did to us. I really see them getting squashed in 5 by Boston.

They are going to limp in. They are going to drop at least two before the playoffs.

They are as mediocre as we are. They just won more shootouts.

Would like a win and you're in scenerio for the Boston game Sunday.
As a fan it would have a great vibe at The Rock at puck drop.

People have disagreed with me, but I absolutely do not believe they are a better team than us. I think they're overachieving big time. Their shooing percentage was also really high the last I looked. I think even if they get in this year, they're certainly not a favorite to get in again next year. They're kinda like this years islanders.

They have a pretty bad record against teams that have more than a 100 points but against teams below that mark they have a really nice record.

So they are probably as mediocre as we are but they do have nicer stretches than us and probably deserve it more than us too.

I don't really have anything against the Jackets. I think them making the playoffs would be good for that market, so I can't really be too bitter about them making it over us. Besides, if they get Boston they probably won't be around very long anyway. Unless Bobrovsky steals them a series.

How about an Undertaker/Brock Lesnar surprise swerve where the Wings lose out and we sneak in with 89 points.

I would eat my shoe

ok I've had too much to drink

I'm still floored by what I saw there.

Loved it, though. Taker has to retire and Brock was the man to do it.

okay...back to Devils talk. lol.

The jackets could easily lose two in a row here. Im still scoreboard watching until we are mathematically eliminated.

Honestly I don't see Columbus losing at home on their Fan Appreciation Day when they can basically lock up a spot tonight (a win puts them five points clear of the field with three games left for everyone).

What does fan appreciation day have to do with anything. And the jackets have had their chances to pull ahead and haven't done it.

Now they got a desperate Yotes team also fighting for points. They can definitely lose tonight.

We pretty much need them to drop their next two. Then we stay 3 back with a game in hand on Thursday. Then it's a matter of winning out and the jackets dropping one of the lightening or panthers game.

Of course it's possible the flyers or wings implode by most likely not happening.

I just meant it's going to be their final home game so obviously it'll be a sellout, the crowd's gonna be amped and all that.

If you want to see what needs to happen out of town. Wings can win one more game with all regulation losses afterward and we can tie and pass them.

Flyers can get one point and we can tie and (I think) pass with tiebreakers.

Jackets same deal as the wings. I think we get ROW over them if we won out but not sure.

That all assumes we win out too. So the margin is like paper thin. Only good news is we only need one team to trip and we have three to choose from. So there is a chance someone ***** the bed.

We'll probably know if we have 'any' chance by the end of tonight, since all three teams have arguably their easiest games the rest of the season. If any of them slip up then you have a chance to have a bit of a losing streak...but if I were a betting man I'd probably parlay the Flyers beating Florida, Columbus winning at home and Detroit beating the Slugs.

Columbus plays Florida the last game of the season.
