If that happens, it would be perfect! Jets smash those Leafs:rant:

Ugh the Leafs have the Jets? **** the Jets, they always **** themselves whenever we need their help. I wouldn't put any stock in this piece of garbage club. They're one of the leagues favorite punching bags. Though the Devils are pretty much their only punching bag.:shakehead

the blue jackets don't have the toughest schedule either, really hope they have a fallout and just collapse. We own every other tiebreakers with all the other teams. But I think making the playoffs would require us to win out which kinda sucks but might be doable.

They did beat Boston last night though. I can remember the Jets doing a lot of choking against teams we need to lose. Which isn't anything out of the ordinary, considering the Jets do a lot of choking in general.

I think we can all basically agree that we need to finish at 4-1 and finish at 90 points.

We can get in if Detroit goes 1-4 with losses at Montreal, at Pittsburgh, at St. Louis, and 1 more loss at home versus Carolina or at Buffalo. To be honest I think that at worse they go 2-3.

Now Columbus. We can get in if Columbus goes 2-3. Can they lose at Dallas, at Tampa Bay, and at home versus Phoenix. I will give them wins at Florida and home versus the Islanders. Although the Islanders seem to be better on the road than at home and perhaps the BJs are shell-shocked at what happened tonight.

We are one behind the Jackets in ROW so if we catch them in points we should take the tiebreaker too since we won't be winning any games in SO.

Just win tomorrow (with whatever roster you're putting out there) and put pressure on Columbus...then we'll see how tight the sticks get.

Optimistic view:

If CBJ go 3-2 or 3-1-1 and we win out we're in. What any other teams do would be irrelevant.

Hey, trying to bring some more optimism, in 2011-2012 we won our last 6 and in 2005-2006 we won our last 11 if that means anything. That was a big win tonight, and we only need to win five more.

3-0-2 gets us to 90 also.

Actually it was a 7-0-1 run on the last playoff spot with a 2-2 overtime tie in Buffalo. I was at that game where Bob Sauve saved a Bob Priestlay breakway in overtime to preserve the point which ultimately got the Devils into the playoffs for the first time. Definitely a memorable 2 week period in Devils history.
