It'd take a lot to get Dubios and with each game this season I'm growing more and more confident in Nico & Hughes as top 2 centers

I'm pretty sure Ty got put on PP1 at least at one point in the game last night.

Thought he was by far our best skater last night.

Also agree with the sentiment on Bastian, maybe bump him up a line or two and see what he can do. I think he moves pretty well for a bigger guy, and he certainly isn't afraid to play physical and make space for his linemates.

Kotkaniemi (+/- ?) for Dubois is the only trade that makes any sense right now. My guess is it doesn't happen, they let Dubois sit in the press box for a while and Jarmo doesn't panic, waiting for a Duchenesque offer he can't refuse.

I mean, you can’t argue that he’s not effective though. Some guys like playing for him, others don’t. He clearly wears guys down eventually, but look at Columbus’ recent success relative to their roster...

I think the Torts factor is overblown for Columbus as a whole. It's definitely a factor here but for the rest I don't think it was. Bob wanted to be in Florida. Duchene was a rental and is a country music nerd who wanted to be in Nashville. Panarin turned down more money from others because he wanted to be a Ranger

torts is good for vets, but not a coach for a young team. he doesn't care about fee-fees or emotional development. he wants results, and if he doesn't get them immediately he's going to beat the shit out of you at the bus stop

Subban was +13 at ES that year - and it was a lockout shortened season - and it was Montreal's choice not to use him on the PK. Montreal got 4 more shot attempts a game than the opposition with PK on the ice that year. The idea that PK Subban was a PP specialist is absurd.

Plus Markov was the only other defensemen with any offense and they had plenty of PKers.

Like many defensemen, PK’s seasons does look better when his shooting percentage is higher. His best game was against the Rangers and his worst was against the Islanders.
