Bastian has looked solid...but there’s no way he wouldn’t be an anchor to Hughes

Subban was +13 at ES that year - and it was a lockout shortened season - and it was Montreal's choice not to use him on the PK. Montreal got 4 more shot attempts a game than the opposition with PK on the ice that year. The idea that PK Subban was a PP specialist is absurd.

The "PP specialist" was an exaggeration based on the absurd PP points split. I realize he was more than like a Butcher lol, he just wasn't Norris worthy.

bastian really isn't that slow. but regardless, he wouldn't be there to keep up with him, he would be there to create space for him and crash the net

Despite being held scoreless I thought Hughes still carried that confidence on to the ice last night, I thought he played well.

Same here. I don’t think he played poorly at all. He was still clearly the Devils best player.

Ty looked fantastic last night as well. Might be preemptive but I think he should be QBing the PP1 over Subban. He just knows how to get shots on net ala Rafalski.

That won’t happen, but it’d be hilarious if it does.

Jackets fans on these boards are expecting the moon—as in, mentioning guys like Larkin and Barzal in lateral trades.

Under normal circumstances, I’d entertain it, but the situation is so beyond toxic. They’ll get a Hall-esque package of futures (some of which may pan out very well, as it did with us), and they’ll like it.
